If the dev's haven't forgotten the "careful dad that is no him part" then the part where she is still with Reza might become very interesting. Perhaps. :)

They haven't forgotten. At the start of the game inspect his picture a couple of times. Zoe will say that at first she got the impression that "that's not Reza", but she shrugged it off.

The old reza wasnt so scared of getting caught...plus if it is the real reza, perhaps he was brainwashed.
Idk about you guys but I specifically tried breaking them up because we know this reza isnt right.

I think its the real body. I doubt they could have created a clone in so short period of time (at most 1 month, if ingame is anything to go by).

Actually its more like a year. And in The Longest Journey, there was indications of people who maybe commited Genetic Forgery (Rail system in Chatper 2) and from that, its not hard to think cloning might be possible in that world.

No, Reza was by Zoë's side for most (if not all) of the coma. At least judgning by the ingame talk.

If it is not the real Reza, then it could be playing with memories. And there are a few possibilities with that.

1) Memory Modification of Reza - Seems fairly likely. So they make a sleeper agent this way.

2) Zoe was paranoid considering how the story unfolded with Reza. It would be reasonable to not trust him. However the exact wording probably negates this one.

3) Something more like Lain. Was Reza really there? Or is he being introduced by altered memory?

4) I am by no way definitive on my analysis so there could be any to explain this that I missed.
All I know if reza shows up right after zoe goes into a coma when dad is visiting her at the end of Dreamfall.

I'm trying to break them up too.
Reza is pretty shallow and immature judging from how he gets all mad and leaves the house if Zoe refuses to taste his cooking. And he'll probably choose work over Zoe if he has to choose one.

Yeah true. Plus I am sure there was a reason they broke up the first time.
Ok the conspiracy delves further after book 2 is done, I too get a strange feeling about Reza, he isn't Zack but it seems his character is leaning dangerously close. I played my Zoe out to be her usual self; perky, inquisitive, naive and that last one because her memories were gone after she woke. The amnesia is understandable after all the crap that happened to her however, I think she will recover all of it in book 3 and like April Ryan who had McAllen the White Cardinal of Voltec keeping tabs on her every move since she came to Venice, the villain in this story has the same agenda against Zoe. April was more a skeptic than an amnesiac naive girl yet Zoe's lack of convincing is due to her being an amnesiac and her overtrustfulness of people who'd likely sell her out is because of her naivete. I can't shake the feeling that her boyfriend was not only tasked to watch her by his masters who brainwashed him but he also sold her out right as the closing to book 2 which was indicated by Nela losing her cart, the Hand That Feeds under investigation and him catching a vac train out of Propast. Shortly after Nela goes kamikaze the same hands of the dude who was talking to her psychiatrist picks her up and puts her in a sort of hospital to monitor her for signs of memory recovery, perhaps he was making at that moment plans to brainwash her in the comatose state to make her just like Reza. Zoe thought she'd uncover a writhing conspiracy with the campaign she took part in and succeed, oh how naive of her because the story would play out the same way it did before save no one but her foolish friend Nela put her into a coma. I believe the villain found an excuse to put her where she was knowing that she had spoken to certain people and showed signs of vacant recovery and was likely half-way or beyond to remembering everything that happened so he moved in to recover and stop her before she could succeed seeing her 'gone jihad' friend as the fire starter for that course of action. No I don't believe Zoe is dreaming, her waking from a coma wouldn't make any sense otherwise and the fact she broke off with her father when he offered her the chance to start a new life away from the cold reality of what she got into is more than enough proof plus her journal makes the pieces fit that she isn't dreaming this. Her memory being trapped in limbo was what caused certain people to call her to awakening yet how they even knew she was still half-way in limbo is unexplained (a plot hole) or maybe they too have seen her in storytime and know she knew something of a dark secret that would shake the whole world to the core with revolutions and news blustering with writhing conspiracies kept veiled from public eyes. Yet what book 3 I know holds is a start to escalating events that will lead inevitably to the one event spoken of in the original longest journey, THE WAR OF THE BALANCE!
Well, we have Book 4 now - not finished it yet, but Zoe seems to remember everything and yet.. she still says nothing regarding Reza not being himself. Only good stuff. Odd

EDIT:
Oookay, nevermind that.. x) waiting for the next book

I think he's quite selfish for disregarding any risk for his life or loved ones when he thinks he's got the lead on a good story despite still insisting Zoë get out of politics or anything potentially dangerous. But that's it.
The way I played it it made Zoë look like the immature one, if anything. I- her- whatever, we chose the cheese soup over the rich people pork sausages because that's what he likes, why throw a fit over it? What's wrong with liking cheese soup? He didn't even have a say in the choice for ♥♥♥♥'s sake.

Actually, the whole relationship segment was awkard as hell. Correct me if I'm wrong but we only see Reza in the beginning and in the end of DF and never get to know him much. Then we jump into the DFC train with their new relationship already going on for IIRC 3 months and we're expected to make decisions about it like we know him as well as Zoë does. It just doesn't work S:
