Thanks for the update on this.
I don't recall any of the games in my library that support a 360 pad but do NOT work with Logitech 310,510,710 pads.
Hope this can be sorted soon, I'll have to resort to using my F 310 in Direct Input mode and use the Logitech profiler to set it up for now.
Wish I'd read this before I bought the game :(
PlayStation 3 controller is not working for me on Linux. To be more precise only the right analog stick is not working (camera control)
That, or connecting PS3 controller and then using Logitech after.

Problem with that is, there are a few games I still have to use the Logitech software to use my F 310 in Direct Input mode and make the pad "emulate" a mouse and keyboard using the Logitech Profiler.
Last time I tried installing the latest 360 drivers, it completely broke the ability to use my pad in direct Input AND be able to have it be seen as a mouse/keyboard in game.
I ended up "rolling back" to the older, stock 360 driver that Win 7 uses.
The F 310 pad IS working for now in Direct Input mode and I use the Profiler to set it up to be seen by the game as a mouse and keyboard.
It's not I deal, but is sort of functional.
I have a wireless F 710 pad also, I generally only plug in the receiver and use that pad when I am on my 55 inch TV in the living room. May give that a go and see if it works at all.
Not a deal breaker, but is more than a little disappointing, especially since it says
Full Controller Support on the Store page.
The devs acknowledged the controller issues on page #2, post #30 of this thread. A couple of us even replied to it (with it quoted) a few posts up:
As for your mapping issue, compatible controllers aren't even intended to be custom mapped, and currently have every button mapped natively, thus the lack of mappable "look" buttons in the control options.
I too have similar issues. The current mouse control isn't the best, and my Xbox One controller also doesn't work natively yet. Hopefully the promised patch will come sooner than later.
THIS. Wtf - OG longest journey fan, been following progress on this game forever.. Saw that it was finally released on steam, tried streaming to my htpc - no controller. Using x360 controller.
As my htpc has been configured to only use gamepad and this game would be perfect. I do not want to keep hooking up a keyboard/mouse to alt-tab so my controller will work.
FIX IT.
Sorry but you have full *buggy* controller support atm. Also once again a dev admitting to releasing too early. This after blowing away the original KS goal. Nice.
Only the Left Stick / L1 / L2 work. The others buttons (which are recognized in game's options) don't work.
