Controller Support?
So I was quick and already downloaded the game and played a bit, only to find out that my controller isn't working in this game, even though according to Store Page it should have "full controller support".

Is it because I'm using Razer Sabertooth and not the traditional Xbox 360 controller? KB & Mouse works fine though..

Have a look at this, the game controller database the SDL project crowdsourced, released under the terms of a permissive license: https://github.com/gabomdq/SDL_GameControllerDB

Hi all, thanks for letting us know.

We currently have full support for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 controllers. We are going to add support for Xbox One controller shortly.

After that, we will do our utmost to support other controllers as well. Apologies to those of you who have incompatible controllers: we had hoped to add a way to configure controllers manually, but we ran out of time before release. We hope to rectify this in the future!

Thanks for the update on this.

I have the Xbox 360 drivers installed for my gamepad (and confirmed that it's detecting inputs via Control Panel). Still nothing.
Think you may want to REMOVE the "Full Controller Support" from the store page until there is actually "Full Controller Support" ?

I don't recall any of the games in my library that support a 360 pad but do NOT work with Logitech 310,510,710 pads.

Hope this can be sorted soon, I'll have to resort to using my F 310 in Direct Input mode and use the Logitech profiler to set it up for now.

Wish I'd read this before I bought the game :(

PlayStation 3 controller is not working for me on Linux. To be more precise only the right analog stick is not working (camera control)

I'd advise to install latest 360 drivers from MS. It seems that did the trick with my F710.
That, or connecting PS3 controller and then using Logitech after.

DualShock 4 works without any 3rd party programs. Game supports it "out of the box". Plugged in via recharge cable. Game screen even mirror the correct keys (doesn't show ABXY Back Start it shows X O Triangle Square Menu and Share) which is totally nice to see! Using with Win7 64bit.

Problem with that is, there are a few games I still have to use the Logitech software to use my F 310 in Direct Input mode and make the pad "emulate" a mouse and keyboard using the Logitech Profiler.

Last time I tried installing the latest 360 drivers, it completely broke the ability to use my pad in direct Input AND be able to have it be seen as a mouse/keyboard in game.

I ended up "rolling back" to the older, stock 360 driver that Win 7 uses.

The F 310 pad IS working for now in Direct Input mode and I use the Profiler to set it up to be seen by the game as a mouse and keyboard.

It's not I deal, but is sort of functional.

I have a wireless F 710 pad also, I generally only plug in the receiver and use that pad when I am on my 55 inch TV in the living room. May give that a go and see if it works at all.

Not a deal breaker, but is more than a little disappointing, especially since it says
Full Controller Support on the Store page.
My F710 does not work either. That's sad because I loved to play Dreamfall with a gamepad, and mouse/key controls in Chapters are a bit quirky. And I do not know of any game that didn't work with the F710. This pad is almost Xbox360 compatible. The problems I am facing now with DC remind me of the times when I had the Rumblepad which wasn't Xbox360 compatible.
@Devs: As it is possible to assign gamepad buttons using the mouse and keyboard setup, it would be very good if you at least could also allow button mappings for looking around. Because these mappings are missing on the keyboard mapping page, I cannot play the game with my gamepad, because I cannot interact with objects if I cannot focus the view on them.

The devs acknowledged the controller issues on page #2, post #30 of this thread. A couple of us even replied to it (with it quoted) a few posts up:

As for your mapping issue, compatible controllers aren't even intended to be custom mapped, and currently have every button mapped natively, thus the lack of mappable "look" buttons in the control options.

I too have similar issues. The current mouse control isn't the best, and my Xbox One controller also doesn't work natively yet. Hopefully the promised patch will come sooner than later.

THIS. Wtf - OG longest journey fan, been following progress on this game forever.. Saw that it was finally released on steam, tried streaming to my htpc - no controller. Using x360 controller.

As my htpc has been configured to only use gamepad and this game would be perfect. I do not want to keep hooking up a keyboard/mouse to alt-tab so my controller will work.

FIX IT.

Sorry but you have full *buggy* controller support atm. Also once again a dev admitting to releasing too early. This after blowing away the original KS goal. Nice.
I have a PS3 gamepad and it does not works completly on Linux with the game.
Only the Left Stick / L1 / L2 work. The others buttons (which are recognized in game's options) don't work.

I'm using a razer onza tournament edition, I'm guessing that this full support for 360 controllers doesn't extend to this one. I had to configure all buttons manually and still couldn't look around. That made it useless. Very disapointing, I've been looking forward to this game for some time.
