Steam Cloud - Lost my saved game

Hey Devs,

First of all awesome work.

Although i have faced an issue after renstalling windows and Steam on my computer.

I have lost my saved game. I thought this game supports Steam Cloud (As per the product page). All my other games in Steam are fine but this one.

Is this some type of bug?

I have experience something alike. But after new game start and then restarting game application I've got saves back.

Yes, try restarting the game. You don't have to re-install.

You just need to launch the game twice for some reason; this does not seem to be a requirement for other Steam games that use cloud saves, but it's a minor issue, that can easily be resolved by relaunching the game.

After a clean install of Dreamfall Chapters, my saved games are always downloaded from the cloud upon the second launch.

Doesn't work for me (version 4.0.4). Lost all my progress from the first 3 books. Is there anything I can do?

I guess it gets glitchy. It was the same for me until turned the cloud sync off. Confirmed it. And then I turned it on again, accepted, and then launched the game. Then the game asked me for the I-net access, so it might also be that the firewall did not ask you for the Inet access for this application. Maybe try turning it off for a moment during the game's launch, if you do not get a query after doing what I have described? Oh, and I also left the game running on the title screen for more than a quarter, in case the game needed the time to download the saves from the cloud. Well, I would bet on a sync glitch or a firewall block though, so why won't you try those first? :)

Thanks for the hints. Seems I got it to sync now, but it also seems like it never synced before. So the only thing it syncs now is from last week when I clicked "New Game". I fear there is nothing else to do than to either play from the beginning or to find savegames from someone else...

Oh, so you might have overwritten the start save. But did you have your cloud sync turned on during your last gameplay? If so, try to "load" option instead of the continue option (I am not sure if it is available before you start the game itself or if you have to launch it first). Then, if you use the load option, you should be able to choose the last autosave from the game manually.

I don't remember turning cloud sync off back when I started playing the game. But that's quite some time ago. Now, the load menu only shows the mentioned save point from last week. Pretty sure this is beyond repair. But thanks for your help.
