Problems starting up

Hi -

I just downloaded chapter 2 of Dreamfall and I am on a Mac. I try to play, the logos of the developers show up and then the screen goes black. The music continues to play, the screen stays black, and my icon spins to show it's loading. Anyone else have these issues or any advice? I am not even getting to the main menu.

Something similar happens to me in game - but I've yet to actually figure out a solution for it. Can you exit the game, or do you have to restart your Mac?

I exit the game by force quitting. I have not yet tried restarting the Mac. The game seems to stop working or freeze before it even gets started.

Ah well, then at least you CAN force quit it, I can't xD I have to reboot my computer to even quit the game.

Same for me! It crashes my macbook completely :( Have you found any way around it?

No unfortunately. I might try restarting my Mac. The only other option I could think of is to reinstall the game, which means I would lose the choices and playthrough that I have had thus far. Hoping to hear of the developers coming out with bug fixes as it is the first day.

Okay, I hope so too. Aparently '10.9 mavericks or higher' are needed for the game but I have managed okay with the first chapter. I have Lion 10.7.5

I couldn't get Chapter One working right on my Mac (I have backup Windows machine that did the trick). I read something about them switching back from the 64-bit of Unity to 32-bit to fix the crashes. I was hoping it was working at this point, but...hmm. 3Gigs of download...sigh.

Had similar issues on Mac: intro credits will play, music starts, and then it blackscreens where the menu is supposed to appear although the music keeps going. It works perfectly fine on PC though. I played chapter one on both PC+Mac a couple months ago without problems (made different decisions on each) and I'm hoping to continue both playthroughs. For now I'll enjoy it on PC.

I shure hope that the publisher will soon fix this! I'm so eager to play book 2!! :D But (as you all aswell) I am on a Mac and it doesn't start up since the update... :/

It seems this problem is specific to the Mac. Has anyone tried a reinstall of the entire game? Hoping they will fix this issue soon.

Hey guys---downloaded yosemite. I am now able to play the game. While Book one functioned perfectly fine on my old operating system, apparently it was not able to handle book 2. hope this helps!

No problem---however I am now running into an issue when I try to get onto the boat wiht Kian. It kicks me out of the game and crashes my entire computer....it auto restarts my mac. Let me know if you have the same issues. i am going to try and run it on the lowest graphics setting as i have seen other people have issues with general memory crashes. I hope they come out with a patch soon as it seems Mac users are getting the short end of the stick on this game.

If you change the graphics quality to low I am able to get into the boat without the game crashing.
