Alright, so is the story really good in this game?

I preordered this a long time ago, decided not to touch it until it was done. I'm assuming it's done now, so I might want to give it a go. I've played Dreamfall, and I played maybe half of the original game. Maybe it was just 1/3 of it, kind of hard to say really.

Right now I'm debating between playing this, or replaying Life is Strange. I want something semi relaxing to play through (this entire series qualifies I'm sure) so I'm kind of hoping this past investment is worthwhile.

If you like the story of TLJ and DF then you'll want to play Chapters. It wraps up most of the story arc from DF and some of TLJ.

It is definitely an ending to Kian's and Zoe's tales. So, if you played DF and want to find you what happened after its cliffhanger ending then Chapters should be worth a look.

Contrary to what others may say, the story in this game is NOT one of it's strong points. The storyline is confusing, hypocritical and basically broken. It's full of plot-holes, inconsistencies, cliches, poor dialogue and unanswered questions.

However, that shouldn't necissarily put you off playing the game, since despite it's many flaws, it does have it's strengths.

The game mosty excels in it's strong characters, beautiful aesthetics, great audio and absorbing atmosphere/immersion.

You definetly might to play Dreamfall Chapters. I'm finished my self just yesterday and wass impressed. Story just Awesome. I want more

easy answer no the story is not good if you know what a real good story means. like the previous games. Dreamfall the longest journey thats hell of a story!! (in a very very positiv way!) thats a really good story but the game dreamfall chapters is just running around searching what is it you have to do next. like working up a checklist. I am very sorry to dissapoint you I was dissapointed as well. but I am not alone with this oppinion. my friend from Dreamfall (we meet here at steam and we are very good friends since then) he agrees with my opinion AND I know there are others who where dissapointed. like my friend said :" The whole Story is made in a rush. there is almost no story just a mess with more questions instead of answers. It is just made to Show how good the Grafics are. We are both very dissapointed BECAUSE WE LOVED THE PREVIOUS GAMES!!!! ESPECIALLY APRIL RYAN!!!! so thats my answers to your question. I wish I never bought it. It was too much money to just running around doing nothing. Sorry for the ones who still love the game. Like I said its our oppinion. we are heart open for diffrent oppinions even if we do not share them :) we mean NO HARM.

"The Longest Journey", the graphic no longer good, but the "story is great." !!!!
I love "April RYAN" and their world !!!!

What do you mean? All three games are bound by one storyline, next game begins where the previous ended. The story should be looked as a whole.

But just like a series of books, the quality varies in each installment. I felt the first two games built up quite a good story, but it didn't really pay off in the final installment - which was a bit of a let down. However if you have played the 1st 2 games and enjoyed them you will want to see how it ends.
