I agree: I'd kick-start both of them. Except I wouldn't want Dreamfall with the same aesthetics of DC.
I'd happily pay for DLC graphical revisions of the first two games, to bring them all in line with Chapters.
Although wait... Maybe people with newest comps/monitors actually need it. Don't have one so don't know. But things OP said... Nope.

Both games have similar technologies - prerendered background(static or dynamic) with 3D models. Backgrounds in GF:R were left original, maybe cleaned up a little. 3D models can be switched between original(pixelated) and remastered(reskinned, shaded).
This is the closest you can get, there's a mod out there that upscales all the backgrounds and also allows you to use the 3d acceleration for the characters as well, running with ScummVM, it looks pretty good https://tljhd.github.io/
