Some of the TV show art gets expensive too, the most expensive item in the gallery is 1.8 million in TV Art 2 and many TV Art pieces are 800k+
Seeing @behindtimes number (thanks for checking, by the way!), I wonder if I've done a couple of the calculations wrong, though...
@JpJs, From what I've seen, a full playthrough on Hard where you know most of the level layouts (and thus can avoid taking damage when grabbing optional stuff etc) should earn you about $20-ish million (accounting for the three "hidden treasures" worth 1 million each) - each level seem to give anything between $3 and $4,5 million, plus another $1-odd million for the Money Bin tutorial level, plus another $1-ish million from the Mount Vesuvius finale.
Haven't checked what the difference is in Extreme, as I've only had one successful run (in which I actively avoided most of the treasure for fear of losing valuable hearts/lives), but I'd love some more numbers once you're done :).
And extreme gives you most cash, as many health powerups and extra lives are replaced with diamonds, plus youll get lot more extra cash for completing level.
Also another trick is to get special stage every time, if you havent unlocked everything in gallery yet, its easy to get, as you'll need to have 7 in your current money aumont before going to level.
BTW all achievemnts took me 9h, 3:70 in-game
I'm beginning to wonder if maybe not "all" cash collected is tallied into the total, maybe only the cash earned from full runs (i.e. completing the escape from Mt. Vesuvius) is counted? That might explain the discrepancies, if people have had a string of unsuccessful runs (I've had a few on Extreme, plus one on Hard), that might throw the totals off?
