yep, tryin to finish first lvl on hard, 1.30 hour already, got 2 times killed by a boulder or some other things xD tryin to find some secrets)
Having played the original NES version, I had a good idea of most of the stages; the layouts are mostly unchanged though some areas have been greatly expanded and storylines have been added requiring you to go almost everywhere in the level instead of just skipping to the end. I don't even remember a minecart segment in Transylvania but now there's two. On normal difficulty it took me a little over three hours to finish without skipping movies I hadn't already seen (I game over'd a couple times with the new boss patterns), but keep in mind the game was originally made on the NES and didn't have any way to continue where you left off. Without saves or passwords, you had to be able to finish the game in a reasonable sitting so by today's standards it comes up as a little short. It has replayability though as you can spend the money to unlock all sorts of cool artwork based on the game, new and old, as well as the cartoon.
There's still some replay value in hard/extreme mode and unlocking the rest of the artwork and extras.
There's a few new bits, notably the ending and the Transylvania level.
