It seems that the game is playable only with 1920*1080 resolution and on windowed mode. I haven't tried it on my Intel+GeForce set. Could end up having different outcome with that.
I tried the game with my two computer sets and with AMD Radeon™ RX 6950 XT (run along with AMD CPU) it occurred. I can't play the game on 4K. Its only playable on 1920*1080 and I had to do the following procedure:
Now on my Nvidia set, GeForce RTX 3080 Ti (run along with Intel CPU), no problems at all. I was able to run the game without any .ini modifications and on 4K.
It might be an issue of certain AMD Catalyst drivers, but I had no interest to dig that far. That should be devs thing to do, IF they care.
Upgraded my GPU from an ancient AMD one to a newer one and did a driver upgrade on top. Game stopped working properly at 4k, unless I set it in the ini to 1080p and increase the resolution in game to 4k.
So yeah, most likely some weird interaction with the driver.
Guess after all this years, this topic is still relevant as the fix is at least working.
I just bought the game and also had only about a quarter of the screen visible; I have a 21:9 3440x1440 monitor and the fraction of the screen was on the top left:
- go to the folder, where the DuckTales.exe is, e.g.:
C:\Steam\steamapps\common\DuckTales Remastered\executable
- rightclick the EXE -> properties -> click the tab "compabilities"
-> aktivate checkbox "deactivate full screen optimization"
Worked for me (still no wide screen, even if I chose my resolution, but at least I see the full screen...
Hope it works for you guys, too and I described everthing right (I don't have an English Windows, so I hope I translated everything correctly) :-D
Change the resolution in-game?
Yes, but didn't work. It only changed the DPI within the little visible window (which only displayed a fraction of the menu. Couldn't even see the different resolutions on the right side in the options).
Thanks, didn't see it at first. Unfortunately didn't make any difference, it went even back to 1/4 or small screen.
Tried all possibilities. Maybe my first solution was wrong:
II realized it goes full screen (but never to 21:9), when I change resolution ingame, exit and restart.
But set resolution must stay under native display resolution (3440*1440), otherwise it's going bach to 1/4.
But i noticed that even in "full screen" / 16:9 there's still missing a bit from the right side of the screen.
That's it for me, I think I'll refund...
Thanks for your help!
