This seems an old thread but the problem still occurs. I am playing with AMD set and couldn't get the game working on 4K. I tried almost everything. All different resolutions, changing windowed to fullscreen and back, switching off HDR and back, taking AMD software out of use and back, re-installing the game and nope. Nothing works.

It seems that the game is playable only with 1920*1080 resolution and on windowed mode. I haven't tried it on my Intel+GeForce set. Could end up having different outcome with that.
Hi yeah this is an old thread I made but for some reason it's works now. I did NOTHING to the game files or anything and I play in 4k. I WISH I had a solution for you but I don't out of nowhere bam it works. It works on steamdeck too btw!
So with AMD hardware this problem occurs, not with Nvidia.

I tried the game with my two computer sets and with AMD Radeon™ RX 6950 XT (run along with AMD CPU) it occurred. I can't play the game on 4K. Its only playable on 1920*1080 and I had to do the following procedure:

So, I was able to fix it by going to the games files --> data --> engine then changing settings to:

[window]
width=1920
height=1080
fakeFullScreen=0
fakeFullScreenMonitor=0

Now on my Nvidia set, GeForce RTX 3080 Ti (run along with Intel CPU), no problems at all. I was able to run the game without any .ini modifications and on 4K.

It might be an issue of certain AMD Catalyst drivers, but I had no interest to dig that far. That should be devs thing to do, IF they care.
Same issue here. Is there a remaster of the remastered version coming up so I can play this game in the correct resolution ?

Check post #27 for the fix.

Upgraded my GPU from an ancient AMD one to a newer one and did a driver upgrade on top. Game stopped working properly at 4k, unless I set it in the ini to 1080p and increase the resolution in game to 4k.

So yeah, most likely some weird interaction with the driver.

Guess after all this years, this topic is still relevant as the fix is at least working.
I just bought and downloaded the Game, fired it up and here we are.... At least it runs well on my Steam Deck, which makes the Problem somewhat acceptable...
yeah i gave up and bought it on my Xbox series X plays wonderful there.
Hi everbody! I think I found the solution.
I just bought the game and also had only about a quarter of the screen visible; I have a 21:9 3440x1440 monitor and the fraction of the screen was on the top left:

- go to the folder, where the DuckTales.exe is, e.g.:
C:\Steam\steamapps\common\DuckTales Remastered\executable

- rightclick the EXE -> properties -> click the tab "compabilities"
-> aktivate checkbox "deactivate full screen optimization"

Worked for me (still no wide screen, even if I chose my resolution, but at least I see the full screen...
Hope it works for you guys, too and I described everthing right (I don't have an English Windows, so I hope I translated everything correctly) :-D

Did you try the DPI fix first?

Change the resolution in-game?
Yes, but didn't work. It only changed the DPI within the little visible window (which only displayed a fraction of the menu. Couldn't even see the different resolutions on the right side in the options).

It's in the Properties, Compatibility tab. Click the Change high DPI settings button, check Override high DPI scaling behavior, and change the dropdown to Application.

Thanks, didn't see it at first. Unfortunately didn't make any difference, it went even back to 1/4 or small screen.
Tried all possibilities. Maybe my first solution was wrong:
II realized it goes full screen (but never to 21:9), when I change resolution ingame, exit and restart.
But set resolution must stay under native display resolution (3440*1440), otherwise it's going bach to 1/4.
But i noticed that even in "full screen" / 16:9 there's still missing a bit from the right side of the screen.
That's it for me, I think I'll refund...
Thanks for your help!
Well.... After long 8 years i didn't start this game up till now.... Have AMD 7900XTX and like we still have this problem????? Nothing helped me from tips above..... :/ UPDATE NEEDED
I have the same problem. Editing file "engine.ini" (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\DuckTales Remastered\data) to this helped
[window]
width=1920
height=1080
fakeFullScreen=1
fakeFullScreenMonitor=0
