What happens to ungiven gift copies?

I want to give the game as a bday present but not till next month. Could I buy a gift copy and hold on to it till the bday or do I have to give it early since the game is being delisted?

I wouldnt risk it, its likely it would still work since its already purchased but since it will be delisted this may cause issues and its gone in less then a day.

i mean at $4 it isn't much of a risk and I would bet if it didn't function they could just refund it anyway

Steam allows you to buy a game and then schedule to have it delivered at a later date. So since a copy was already bought it should still work.

That's also how a lot of key selling sites still sell the delisted deadpool game, yes.
