When will the game leave the store? Conflicting information
Hi!
According to an announcement from WBacon at https://steamcommunity.com/games/237630/announcements/detail/1598134907207869895 the game will be pulled from the store on Aug 9, 5pm. The timezone is not mentioned, but I am assuming UTC+0

On the other hand, the store page states that the current discount will be good for another 46 hours, i. e. until Aug 10.

Please clarify. Thanks!

it is clear, it will be pulled Aug 9 at 5pm

the discounts just flagged to last through august 10th since in some parts of the world it will already be august 10th when August 9 5pm has happened

5 PM UTC is indeed when Steam ends each store "day" based on Valve setting it at 10 AM PDT (UTC-8 ,+1 for DST)

Yes, it is also confusing over here. Just grab it don't wait until the last minute.

Seems like a whole new cash grab scenario. Quick, buy it or its gone forever!
Nah. I wouldn't do it normally, I won't now.

There is no part of the world where it is still the 9th at 5pm UTC on August 10th.
You are not helping.

We will see in another 7 hours, I suppose.

Both Playstation and Xbox platforms are already gone from digital, all that remains now here is on Steam.

Trying to figure out why it matters, really. Is there a reason why you need to know precisely when it leaves the market? I would think that if you wanted it, you'd buy it, regardless of the exact minute it disappears...

How is it a cash grab scenario? It's not a cash in and run thing. Probably due to licence agreements ending that the game has to disappear so they give it a discount and that's it. No one can buy it anymore after that.
Happened with more games, like a Mickey Mouse game, Deadpool, Marvel Ultimate aliance 1 and 2, and some others when their licence ran out. All got a discount near the end so people who still wanted to buy it could get it cheaper and perhaps a bit of a motivation for people to buy it now yes but they won't get rich from it anymore.
Yes it appears as it because they can simply revive the license again later but you don't know when so i got his point, there are plenty examples of this scenario and even if they discount the game, it's still a sneaky method.
I mean why do they not pay for the license now huh, see what he meant?

Who said 5 pm utc? I said 5 pm. It's irrelevant, they gave you a deadline for when the game gets pulled. The discount expiration is meaningless. They could make the discount last until next year but you couldn't buy it because it's pulled.

You failed to realize I already explained this. The game being pulled is set. The discount simply expires in the store tracking system at the end of day, which happens starting the following date.

You are pointlessly over thinking it. It's 4 freaking dollars, just buy it and you won't need to care

Also curious why you want to know the exact time it disappears.

Yup, exactly.
How many people will buy it that would never do that otherwise? I don't know, but I bet many will.
Of course on the other hand it's nice to know if the game is leaving the store. But I can easly see that happening more and more often just to boost sales.

Both Capcom and Disney already mentioned that they have no plans to renew the licensing rights for this game. So for all intent and purpose the game won't see a re-release for the far foreseeable future, if ever.

Just get it while you still have a chance right now.

Game titles with popular IPs especially from large corporations like Disney have their rights pulled all the time. This is why alot of developers and publishers sometimes tend to avoid developing something based off on existing popular IPs because they are simply very iffy to deal with legality wise.

Activision currently lost the rights to publish anymore Marvel (Disney) IPs and alot of their titles have already been pulled from digital storefronts, likely never coming back unless Activision choose to cough up a significant dough to renew the licensing rights. Sega have also lost the rights to develop and publish anymore Alien games from Fox and if Sega choose not to renew it's licensing agreement, then titles like Aliens: Colonial Marines and Alien: Isolation including all of it's DLCs will get permanently pulled from storefronts as well.

Me neither. But we're talking about a game that will never be available for purchase ever again.
Not only that, it's a DuckTales game! Also a CAPCOM game that will be removed but few cares about that one.
