Solo Leveling:Arise

Solo Leveling:Arise

The REAL reason behind the delay.
As most of you already know, and for those who still don't, the release of Solo Leveling: Arise on steam was supposed to be the 7-8 May. Then it has been changed to Q3 2024.

As many other competitors do, Netmarble has decided to publish their PC version on their own launcher. If you are familiar with third-party launchers (Like EA, uPlay, BattleNet etc...) then you should know they do that to avoid the 30% take Steam takes from purchases.

So yeah, Netmarble has decided to maximize profits on PC through their own launcher and only then, after some time, release it to steam as well. That way, they can reel in most big fishes that don't like to wait and don't mind leaving steam. Then after a while they'll cast a net to get all the left out potential players.

(i've seen games go from f2p friendly to heavily p2w over time, but i have never seen any gacha games i've played (and i played a lot), go p2w on such extreme lvl from the very start as SL did, but then again it's SL title so i guess they figured they can get away with it since it's such a popular title...

There's no PvP so the game has zero P2W.

That definition of p2w is stupid, if you can pay to skip a load of progression and get to the endgame then that is paying to win, it's shouldn't be specifically for PvP only, I know that is the definition but it's dumb and should just encompass the entire concept of paying to skip stuff

The game isn't PVP in the sense players are killing other players with their teams. No, they're just competing with other players instead in leaderboards all the time for top tier resources. A server always forming to have about 3 whales, and 10 or so dolphins. As servers with these leaderboards consist of about 500 players total.

The Battlefield of Time and Path of Destruction are the two heavy casher competitions. With the Battlefield of Time having seasonal rewards and seasonal points, that let you buy exclusive rewards you can't really earn easily anywhere else. Points being earned solely on your top placement scores against other players. Path of Destruction is more like a daily with a leaderboard, and the best rewards go to the top 3 players.

And of course they had events every week that were just leaderboards really. Like clear gates and get more points for the better the gate you clear. And of course cashers are allowed to clear 3 more gates per day if they pay for the daily subscription, on top of them being able to clear higher difficulty gates more easily that give more points.

I'd struggle not to define this as P2W by any stretch of the definition even if you're a person who thinks paying against single player content isn't P2W.

So what you're saying is... the anime only exists as an advertisement for the gacha game. It's already trained you to do your daily quests or else suffer the penalty.

Pvp is rumored to be added in guessing game will drop on steam around anniversary time or after the patches are more stable LMAO

I though it was because the Steam rule to forbid the games that rely on adverts to receive income (stopping all those games of "watch this add to earn energy", or "watch this add to earn any of these weapons").

I literrally discovered this game existed now, that's why I was wondering about their pay system if they can't use addverts like usually do mobile games. But reading these delays on Steam version (from Q3 2024? the past year?) I guess this won't be port to Steam after all.

Hmm, I never saw any third party adverts to earn in-game currency or anything like that when I played the game (which was at launch). If that's what you're describing.

They advertised their own in-game items with pop-ups like "3,99" to buy this in-game bundle now", but I doubt that is what you're talking about.
