But PvP in it's current state is pretty stupid atm (and that's not changing even with KR's updates), so I don't feel it's worth taking seriously, let alone making it a criteria for class choices.
PvE, most of the first paragraph still applies, although VP is easily the best in damage output compared to the other two classes, if only because of hellstone (which is learned as early as level 20). Dimension Witch doesn't exactly pick up in damage until the level 30-35 range, and EM is just slow in general.
I'd still say just pick with whichever class appeals to you. EM right now is one of the worse classes in the game, (to the point I'd get out damaged consistently by a first job with a +8 enhancement), but it still doesn't stop me from playing her.
There's no incentive as an EM to approaching or going in the general direction of an opponent in PvP.
In fact the game advises (not directly) EM's to get away from opponents through the first job active called, "Meditation", which is a toggle on and off move that grants +4MP/Second MP regen as long as you're standing and passively charging MP or walking. Sounds great, right?
Here's the catch:
Attacking halts your MP regen for as long as you're attacking and in the attack animation.
On top of that, turning the skill off (either manually by pressing the skill again or getting attacked in midst of combat) puts the skill on cool down for 10 seconds.
This means that the amount of MP you get from the skill is dependant on how inactive you are from combat, while for Void Princess and Dimension Witch their first job actives (which for Aisha in general, recovers MP) require you to get in a specific distance of an enemy target to steal MP.
You're basically punished for running into battle and rewarded for staying out of battle.
I never look for any fanart because Aisha and Rena's... "animations" make it easy to guess what I'll find.
They will buff Meditation later to the point that you'll be able to start a PvP match with 250 MP (this comprises of the 50 MP default starting MP for Aisha/Rena and the +200 MP from meditation as +40 MP increments per second over five seconds) right off the bat. This does not include any MP gain for standing and charging MP.
To elaborate:
You'll be able to get 200 MP by simply hitting the skill button once every ~45 seconds to 60 seconds (depending whether or not you have the skill note that does -15 seconds CD time and makes the skill un-interruptable) as five +40 MP increments per second over 5 seconds
To give you a comparison:
an Eve/Elsword/Raven/Chung will start 0 MP and a Rena/Aisha (bar EM) will start with 50 MP and the ability to charge MP as the match starts.
Note:
Eve has an ability called Mana Conversion, which allows her to sacrifice HP in return for MP. There is a skill note for Mana Conversion that allows a 30% chance of ignoring the HP cost as long as you have the required HP to cast it in the first place.
If you're wondering the default MP charging speed for Aisha and Rena while standing are as follows:
- Aisha -
Elemental Master & Void Princess : 10MP/Sec
Dimension Witch : 10.5MP/Sec (with the passive known as Fitness that grants +5% MP charging speed).
- Rena -
Wind Sneaker & Night Watcher : 5MP/Sec (has a one to two second start up time).
Grand Archer : 10MP/Sec (with their passive, "Inducing Nature", that increases her charging rate up to Aisha's; she still has a one or two second start up time though).
