Gamepad help

I looked around a bit and saw that the game does support gamepad use. The guide says to look in options for the hotkey option select on for custom, then click all.

The problems come in there. The menu in my game looks different from what's pictured and hotkey is not under options. Under the hotkey option there is no [ on off all] buttons. so I can not bind my keys. Was there a recent interface change that I'm missing, and should be doing something differently to enable gamepad support?

The Hotkey option for your gamepad is now on the Keyboard options.

I see the custom hotkey button on the keyboard but it doesn't register my controller at all. Is there some other button I'm missing before trying to map the controller?

it can be used with an xbox controller, no gamepad else.

It work's for my PS3 controller actually, if you go to custom keys, look for a tiny tab that says Custom Hotkeys by the arrow key illustration, you will see a crapload of BUTTON1 FOR THIS ect. Unfortunately you'll need a bit of trial and error to figure out what Button 4 will actually represent when mapping these to your controller. Hope that helps.

Ahh, that could be it then. I'm using a ps4 controller, my pc can see it, but the game must not. I did try using input mapper which masks my controller as a 360 one, and it works in other games that only see x box controllers, but I guess it's a no go here.

Yup I was able to find the custom keys button, but when I chose a button to map the "press a key to assign a hotkey" box just sits there and nothing changes. I saw on the help section for using a controller that we used to have to turn on the controller support.

Do we still have to do that or is it automatic now. If we do I'm just not seeing that button anywhere at all.

Honestly it was automatic for me, the fact you're using a PS4 controller might be what's causing the issue, as anytime someone I know tries to use it with her games, the computer goes bonkers and nothing registers for it, so that might be the actual reason. The software to map or fool the computer into thinking you're using an Xbox controller also doesn't seem to work as we've tried it before. My only recommendation is see if there's a more recent software update for it (doubtful, and there are a few that contain malware so I've heard), play on keyboard or nab a ps3/xbox controller :/

You can buy a Logitech f310 gamepad (Logitech f710 if you want the wireless version). This gamepad along with XBOX controller are the best gamepads that I've used to play Elsword so far.

(just to remind that Logitech f310 is cheaper than a XBOX controller)

I wonder if the new Steam controller can work with Steam Elsword...hmmm
