Add has a unique system called DP. It's basically his awakening, but with a few changes, some favorable, some unfavorable. Every character can awaken, after a bead in the top left corner is filled (you can also see a green bar next to the bead thing that fills up vertically as you deal damage.)
When you awaken, you gain a damage boost and frames called freeze frames. You are also frozen for a bit, as you do your awaken pose, but other players/mobs are frozen at the same time but longer, allowing you to catch and combo or deal devastating damage to them if they are in your vicinity.
However, the DP system is different. Displayed under the MP bar, it is purple and builds up horizontaly as you deal damage. As you can see, it has a maximum of 400 DP points. You only need 100 DP points to be able to awaken, and once you do, you create an electric shock that can also deal damage and hitstun to anyone near you, allowing a catch if used correctly. (Doesn't generate freeze frames though, so be careful.) When activating DP mode, you expend 50 DP and gain a mutation point. Mutation points are points collected up every time you enter DP mode. (and in MasterMind's case, if he switches drones.)
If you check certain skills information, you can see that they can expend a certain amount of mutation points in order for something like a damage boost.
Mutation points, when gained, appear in the top left corner in the bead slots. You can get a maximum of 6 mutation points.
Depending on your class, you can utilize DP to maximize or enhance yourself in many ways.
Lunatic Psyker is a magic based attacker. He can only perform base job Add commands, but has a system called Nasod Armour Combo. (Both other Adds get armour combos too, but LP focuses on them more.)
Whenever Add awakens after advancing to first job, he can connect armour combos to certain commands (e.g >>^XX would allow you to enter armour combo if you press Z or X after the >>^XX is performed.)
These commands can deal a great amount of damage, but will eat up DP.
MasterMind is a physical based attacker (however, his magic attack is naturally higher than his physical.)
He employs the use of drones, indeed a very unique system. When you reach Level 25, you get your first drone skill: Drone Activator. If you equip it in your skills and use it, it is shown that Add summons a floating thing next to him: that's the drone. It does not cost you any MP to spawn the drone, but it will cost you certain MP amounts to actually cast the skill. (Drone Activator costs 100MP, Chaser/Pulse gatling costs 130MP and Ultimate Fury/Starfall costs 200MP.
Each skills have their own special effects, Drone Activator for support, Chaser/Pulse gatling for utility and Ultimate Fury/Starfall for damage.
Additionaly, if you level Arc Tracers Nasod Armour passive, you gain MP every time you summon/switch a drone and also gain a mutation point. However, once you have gained 6 mutation points and can't get any more, you will not gain MP from summoning/switching drones. You switch drones by summoning one drone, then pressing another drone skill, which switches to that drone. The other 2 drone skills then get cooldown.
Diabolic Esper is a magical based attacker (with the highest magic attack power of the 3 Adds, but is very weak in terms of HP.
When he awakens, active and special active skills gained from Time Tracer and onwards can be used if you have the right amount of DP. (For example, Reverse Circle is a Diabolic Esper skill that costs 100MP, but within DP mode, it expends 100DP.
So he effectively uses DP as a SECOND MP BAR.
tl;dr LP = big burst damage that comes in loads.
MM = progressive, pressurising attack power and a stock of MP.
DiE = HUGE, short burst damage.
And that's just right where the two lvl60 passives enter: "New Update!" and "Transform Offense Mode". Remember that you can only choose between one of these two.
- Transform Offense Mode passive provides extra damage to every "Install" skill. This makes your "Install" skills hit harder, making it quite abusive to skills like PulseGatling/ShootingChaser and UltimateFury/Starfall.
- New Update! passive makes you gain even more MP each time switch an "Install" drone. However, unlike Arc Tracer's Nasod Armor passive, there is not dynamo mutation point limit and can be stacked up to 3 times (10sec duration). This combined with Arc Tracer's Nasod Armor passive you will be gaining insane amounts of MP. Just remember that if you use this
passive, you will have to be switching "Install" drones most of the time in order to gain more MP.
In all, Mastermind has a bunch of toys to play with your test subjects... I mean, opponents. Don't forget about our favourite floating massive torture kit: "Apocalypse".
Remember that, as Mastermind, you have to create your own strategy depending on:
- What's your playstyle?
- What do you want to achieve?
- Who are your targets?
Asura requires a Shadow Weave note to be fully effective though
