Game freezes before character selection?!?!

I was able to play Elsword yesterday after a reboot due to an error with gameguard ("Client force closed by game guard" or something like that), i was able to play flawlessly for about 3 hours. I got off and played some Battlefield 4, and ever since then the game freezes right before character selection! The game loads up to 94% and then stops. Ive done verifying, google searches (all led to outdated posts from 2012/13) and even reinstalled... idk what to do :(

never heard of this issue before, steam library > right click elsword > properties > local files > browse local files and run elsword, you'll have to login to your account

tried this just now since i didnt think to try that before, same issue! It lets me login, reaches 94% and stops... i left it sitting at 94% for an hour earlier and it didnt change, but its definitly running (even though the process x2.exe is invisible in task manager, the cpu usage is definitly higher then what the visible apps are listed as using)

Try waiting.
My laptop freezes a lot for Elsword just to login after selecting a character, starting a dungeon, anything that requires the game to load.

i tried waiting for an hour after it hit the 94%, the problem is once it hits 94% i get the windows popup "the program has stopped responding, end now/cancel" and after an hour nothing changed. I never had a problem with this game before, across 2 laptops and 1 desktop, and my desktop right now was running the game perfectly (max settings, max fps, load times of about 3 seconds), now it just magically doesnt wanna do ♥♥♥♥ :(

i doubt thisll be of any help regarding this problem, but who knows :(

RAM: DDR3 16GB
AntiVirus: Avast (Set to Gaming Mode)

Try turning off avast.
What gameguard is seeing is a potentially game-cheating program and its saying noperino.

Also try turning off your windows firewall AND avast.
