Error when starting up the game
Hope I'm not the only one having this issue and maybe someone can help me. When I try to run this game, the launcher shows up and when it finishes I get an pop up that says 'Error' and nothing else. After a few seconds, a small window pops up in the bottom right corner of my screen with a chibi Elsword with text displaying XIGNCODE3. It finishes loading then disappears. Right after that, the actual Elsword client shows up for half a second then immediately crashes.

I've tried opening the game both on and off Steam and I encounter the same issue. I've also tried downloading the manual patch and Xigncode manual patch from the main website and it fixes nothing. Has anyone had this problem and fixed it? I'd really like to try this game again.

Hmmm...how long ago have you played Els? It sounds to me like you stopped playing It should say more than just "error". Your account could be locked.

Also, it could be your firewall or antivirus that's blocking Elsword...so you should check that out too

And you should try running the game on "Admin permission". If you right click you can try running it that way.

Correct. I stopped playing maybe 2 or 3 years ago. Unfortunately, all it says is "Error" so it makes it harder for me to pinpoint what the issue is. As for my account being locked, it seems pretty likely. I've tried turning off my firewall and running the program as administrator as well. I've run out of ideas on how to fix this so I was hoping to find someone who fixed this with the same problem as me. Regardless, I appreciate your advice.

Hold on. Try logging onto the website and checking all of your transactions. Maybe they locked your account because you haven't played in years. If you send a ticket, then maybe they can open it up for you?

And no problem, there's not a lot of people around here that can help you out besides me, NickPowah, and a few others (since there's no mods). But we'll do whatever we can to help anyone around here. Honestly, I think you're account has probably been locked due to long inactivity.

I'm 100% sure that someone else had the same case and they said all they needed to do was send a ticket. I think KOG does this as an added measure to make sure that accounts aren't hacked in or any suspicious activity. So that when the user does come back, they can activate it through a ticket to have better validation that it's the same person. This is what I think though, so I dunno lol. So try and see if they'll help you out! Good luck! :)

I've managed to log into my account and check my recent transactions. Last time I loaded up was 2 years ago and there doesn't seem to be any suspicious activity. I'd send a ticket, but I'm not sure how support can help with my client being unable to show up at all. I'm not even given the chance to try to log in. Seeing as how I don't have any other options at this point though, I will try it. Again, thank you for your help. I really appreciate it. Guess I'll reply here once more if I find anything new.

So if you've loaded up that long ago...and you used STEAM, then you must be locked out! If you use Elsword on Steam, then you don't log in. There is no log in part, since its automatic ever since you log into Elsword on Steam for the first time. So my suggestion is to try using a the non-steam verison.

GO TO:
> Computer
> C Drive
> Program Files (x86) or Program Files (x64) ~ whatever you have
> Steam
> steamapps
> common
> Elsword
> THEN CLICK ON: elsword

You should be able to get the "User Account Control" notification (The yes or no - do you want to run this). So after you hit yes, the patch should be downloading as usual, but you'll be able to see the log in. If you put in your email and password, see if it works then! If you sent in a ticket, they'll definitely help you out better than me. But, I definitely suggest that you go log in again and check your transactions! Instead of checking "load up history"...it's important to check PORTAL HISTORY. Because there, it tells you when your account has either been banned or locked. It also tells you when you log in everytime into the website or the game. So I think you should check there to see anything weird. Let me know how it goes and come back if you need anything else! And If I double click & open the file, the patcher opens and there's no other button then 'Cancel Installation'. Besides that, I logged into the website and checked all my history. It's all from 2 years ago. Which seems to line up with my last successful login to the actual game. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be anything that suggests I got locked out of my account there. When you click on Elsword, something similar to this, should pop up:

But instead, it shows Elsword and stuff lol. It's just asking you permission to play the game. I mean that's what's usually pops up for most people, but if you dont have it thats fine. But, what I do recommend you doing is right clicking and press "run as admin"(something similar to this image should pop up): http://www.pathloss.com/pwiki/images/Run_as_admin.JPG


ALSO: You said you tried the game off of steam...but how? Did you atually download the files from the official website (you should try that if you havent) or did you use the one provided by the Steam folder for Els?

Either way, your best bet is DEFINITELY contacting the GMs by sending a ticket. That's literally the only way you can unlock your account, since they're the ones who have control over that. So if anything, you should talk to them first and see what they say. They could've just locked it for secruity reasons for your account, so try contacting them.

Also, dw about it lol you dont need to thank me. There's a few individuals that try to help here and there, since there's no mods around. My IGN is KingElrios, btw. I'm gunna be the best overall Elboy for PvP in the entire game lol. Let's meet up sometime! :)

It happend the same to me, I downloaded it 3 times and it pops up "Error" at 100%, closing it then it pops up an XIGNCODE3 thingy with the elsword picture on it at the bottom right, after that an tab would open and then close I am not sure which tab. {Help me please} I basically got it off the website third and I only downloaded it like 1 time for steam. I am just basically new to this game and I thought it was fun to play but this isn't a good welcoming for me it's been 2 days since I am deep further researching to fix this problem.

I assume this has never been fixed, because it is still an issue, and the OP on this was the only person to accurately describe the same problem on the whole internet. I'm in the exact same situation.
