Returning Player ~ Summary of Changes?
Hey guys,

So the last time I played El was almost 5 years ago. During that time, I think the level cap was arond 65 to 70 and the Infinity Sword job change for Elsword just came out. At the time, I was pretty high up, and I remember getting a 2nd job change took a lot longer (at the time, it took me 4 days to get a 2nd job change, while it only takes me 2-3 hours now). Additionally, there were only two job changes. Anyways, I was wondering if someone who is experienced (I heard the new level cap is 99) could give me a rundown on what has happened in between. I know its asking a bit, but just the major changes would be great!

Also, asking for some advice on which job changes I should get. I'm looking for a low-health high-damage assasin to play. Someone like Blademaster (long combos). With literally 6 new characters to keep track of and multiple job changes, what is the best job path and character to choose from?

Some characters I have right now
Apoptosis
Blademaster
Blazing Heart
Diabolic Esper

Thanks a lot!

PS. Is Elsword really dead? I've heard a lot of talk about it. :(

Hi!

As a veteran, I think I can fill you in.

During your 5 years of absence, plenty of things have changed. There is significantly more PvE content, with additional regions, raid bosses, and more. All 2nd classes (meaning the ones that you named and the rest) have all received a new class advancement as well. 3rd classes are here and they allow your character to be even stronger.

You've heard right, the level cap is 99 now, but you can still level past 99 with the "El Resonance" levels, which give you El Resonance points that you can spend to make your character stronger in various different ways, including increasing drop rates, reducing the cooldown for your skills, just buffing your raw damage, etc. It's up to you how to use those points, which adds a nice layer of depth.

Finally, if you're looking for a low health, high damage class, I say look at Add's classes and pick one of those. Add's specialty is being able to dish out a tremendous amount of damage but having low health as a result, making him a glass cannon of sorts. As for which class of Add to pick, that's up to you!

P.S: It's not dead, there's still a large fanbase working at large and playing the game today.

Hope this info helps!

Hey Comet!

Welcome back to Elsword! I'll try and run down the changes as much as I can to help you out!

  • Based on your description it seems like you are up to level 70 2nd Job; However, I'm unsure if you are aware of Transcendence! Which is "kinda" like 2.5 Job.

It'll unlock a bunch of skills, passives and commands that may make your character smoother to play. Transcendence works similar to 2nd Job where you can complete a set of quests to unlock it.

  • Following this is at the max level cap (which is 99) and unlocking 3rd Job. Which... will enable to use Force Skills which are essentially equippable skills that come in the form of Passives, Actives or Mod Skills.

(Mod Skills are slightly changed version of your character's current skills).

Videos of 3rd Jobs for some reference

  • There are a bunch of Quality of Life changes that can change the way the game is played in general

    These can be found here:
    - https://elsword.koggames.com/quality-of-life-update-2/

These include some really beneficial changes including free B-Slots (You can use all 8 Skill slots), an ED-Shop (to buy previously K-Ching exclusive items for ED) and so forth.

  • You'll really want to look into getting your Equipment/Weapon sorted on the way to level 99. I advise doing this by doing Secret Dungeons -> Heroic Dungeons -> Elrianode Void Weapon Gear.

I'll link this guide here to help you out:
    https://forum.elsword.koggames.com/forum/getting-started/game-guides/176115-basic-endgame-knowledge-for-newer-returning-players-pve-oriented

  • Blade Master (or Furious Blade in 3rd Job) wouldn't be too bad a choice; one of the Elsword regular streamers Gytka both mains and plays Blade Master to great effect. [/list
Lastly, feel free to ask any other questions you may have! We're here to help!

Hey, thanks for the quick answer. Just a follow-up question. Are there any other jobs or classes I should be aware of that are similar to Add's (glass cannon)? I hear that this new character with guns, Rose, was broken for quite some time due to her damage.

No problem,

As of now, there are no other character or classes that really hold the role of a glass cannon, unfortunately.

Rose was broken, she's received some nerfs since her release, as well as the whole cast of characters experiencing plenty of rebalances over time. Currently, she's not as strong as she was when she was released, but she remains an extremely strong character in the game overall.
