Diangelion Bound combo tips

I've been praticing the bound skills and combos in Free Training for awhile and I've been finding it somewhat frustrating to do. I build up points in the combo gauge, pressed the prompt key when it appears and yet I only manage to get it once out of five attempts at best. Is this because the revamp made the window smaller to follow up? Or is it I need to be faster at the timing? I'm just curious to know. Any advice or information would be appreciated.
