This could quite possibly be the most stimulating game you've ever played. The sounds and visuals are some of the gorgeous animations you've ever seen - crafted by hand by Caleb Wood the games creator. They will sear into you optic nerve. The two stick game-play is quite fun and completely unique. Thanks for a great game~ has been a blast so far.

this is what galaga felt like when i first played it as a child.

on a serious note.. this game mentally splits you into 2 halves and still finds a way to stimulate every part of your mind, all while being a ton of fun to play.


the split controls are set up in such a simple way that two characters you control are able to maintain each other's health without you feeling overwhelmed.. it's so simple that the support system can subconsciously take effect if you find yourself violently clicking out of panic.


when talking about the difficulty, of course there's going to be people that are split between it being easy to pick up and nearly impossible to read. regarding the latter, i just find that whatever isn't a lighter shade blue needs to be dealt with. also, each subsection progressing towards the final boss doesn't just throw unrelated enemies at you. they teach you how to play against each boss and properly warm you up to each respective final stage.

it has 4 difficulties, which grants replayability on its own.. at the end of it, i just think the main difficulty is getting the hang of controlling 2 characters at once.. which was easy enough for me to do (while high), but i know there are people who will think otherwise at first.

what you really need to know is that the gameplay is absolutely Flower-centric, with the Wasp being your weapon. the game ends when the Flower dies, and you're given generous i-frames during times when the Flower is Dashing.. however, there's a little bit of a pause at the end of each Dash to keep you in check of blindly rushing ahead of yourself.

going back on the support system, the game kind of leaves a few of the nuances of the upgrades and flower projectiles out of the tutorial, so the game kinda leaves you to figure out how to manage your Essence (the blue energy pellets shown in the videos) on your own... but in short, you can make a weapon out of the Flower with Essence by holding the power button and aiming with either WASD or a thumbstick on your controller. personally, i like to play with the aim accuracy of the thumbstick with the precision clicking of a mouse.. which the game DOES allow you to do. pretty neat.

i like games that make you feel like you're the boss fight and this game doesn't fail.


in the first 5 minutes of playing this game, i found myself attached to the entrancing amount of personality animated into each of characters.. with my favorite being the Flower, warm synth waves and all. speaking of the sound, it's incredibly crisp and nothing becomes a mush even when ♥♥♥♥ hits the fan. you can hear EVERYTHING.

it makes me so happy to know that there's games like this that exist and allow you to live inside a literal painting. i've been fond of Caleb Wood's work for a while from his other animations, and it's just so cool to see his vision with this effortless flow.


perfectly stimulating for art lovers, bullet hell lovers, bug lovers, and all AuDHD people alike.

i really hope this game gets the recognition it deserves, whether that would be now or later. literally playable art.
