Why can't I holster the Saber across my back?
I'm attempting the Holiday Hoarders Mission in Paris, where you need to collect 12 "toys" before 2 burglars get them. I completed this in the Legacy pack already now I'm doing it again in Hitman 2016. But, is it buggy? you shouldn't be able to carry the battleaxe up the ladder, but I DID! and trying to grab the saber in the attic, I could only SWAP between the two....the saber would not holster. is this a change from Hitman to Legacy? is it enough just to have held it ? Help, I am a completionist, I won't rest until it is completed. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing the game, to no avail same thing persists. I get all the items, but I can' t complete because I can' t carry all 12 items at once. PLEASE HELP?

The entire holiday hoarders challenge set is revamped between the two games because of this. In Hitman (2016) you were only required to touch each object once and then you could drop them because you could never simultaneously pick up both the saber and the axe together. In Hitman 2 the same challenge requires you carry all of the objects simultaneously to complete it because the saber can now go on your back while the axe is in your hand.

Due to these changes you'll also see Hitman (2016) versions of the challenge where people even used the coconut for knockouts (it breaks), but you can't do that in Hitman 2 (2018) if you want to complete the challenge since breaking the coconut leaves you without one to hold.

This is not a malfunction, the saber has never worked this way in Hitman (2016). Your memory of the differences between the games is simply wrong.

Hitman 2's missions are completely remastered and use a different set of rules. Hitman (2016) did not allow the saber on your back, it's just that simple.

There's at least a dozen other changes that I won't be bothered to list between the games.

Not true for my problems. You see, I've seen Videos of other people playing Hitman 2016 and they DID carry the Saber on their back! yoiu see, that is the only way to accomplish that mission! Also I cannot use instinct at the same time as aiming a pistol! and again, I've seen it done! I need help fixing the problem, not placating platitudes from a WANNABE, I realise there are changes from each version, things added and even taken away from the maps,(foliage added into 2018) But THIS they did NOT change! thank you for trying to respond though. Sorry, I'm angry as it's pretty much game breaking when I cannot complete an objective because of a rare coding malfunction

It's simple--holsters are for guns, not swords. What you need is a scabbard. Does your character possess one of those?

That's not relevant. The holster-command will put away whatever tool/weapon you are carrying ~ if it can be put away.

Several weapons can strap across the back without a visible scabbard/sheath. In Hitman (2016) the katana can be put across your back, so compared with other similar weapons it makes the saber appear to be an oversight that it did not function the same way.

ioi (the developer) seems to agree that it was an oversight, however; they chose not to fix the issue in Hitman (2016). They did however change the function in Hitman 2 (2018) where the same locations can be played in remastered versions and the saber can be holstered across the back the same as other similar sized bladed weapons.

The issue in this topic is simply that the two games had different behaviors for the same weapon, so if you are not intimately familiar with the various changes made to the remaster it can be easy to be confused when switching between games.

I have 2000+ hours played between both games, I am pretty familiar with the differences between the two versions.

kunovega, I apologize for my response to your first answer, I did complete this challenge in Hitman 2 as soon as I had all 12 items in my possession. however, I learned you were correct when I decided to quit restarting when the challenge failed to popup, and on COMPLETION of the mission the challenge was awarded, along with a Silent Assassin rating. I again apologize for my rudeness, as you were only trying to set me straight. thanks for that.
