Death by Proxy Challenge in "Final Test"

How do you complete this challenge? It says you have to set the KGB officer up to electrocute Jasper Knight while he is investigating the projector, but once I switch the projector off and the target starts fixing it, the officer just walks out of the room.

First you steal a soldier uniform. Then you get the projector slides from the first floor. Then you go to the second floor and speak to the KGB officer and he will tell you to place them on the projector. Once you do this you wait by the fuse panel. Timing is key, when both the KGB and Jasper Knight are there turn off the break and wait.

With both of them there I turned off the break and waited.

No, I simply reloaded the game and the officer did the switching off. I think what I did wrong was turning the projector off and on before putting the slides in it. Kind of ruined the sequence.
