Huge problem with Hitman 6: Poor scripting (Please listen, IO)
Hitman is supposed to be a game about precise timing. You're entering a situation that is happening by itself, a machine that works like clockwork, and like a voyeur, you examine the situation and try to break it apart to kill the target. This is how it worked in Silent Assassin, Contracts and Blood Money.

However, in Hitman 6, the game doesn't move until you do. Important and crucial movements of the target and guards only happen when you activate them. Here are some examples (Spoilers for the first level):

-Norfolk does not enter the boat until you do and hear Rittler talking to the bartender
-Norfolk and Rittler do not move to the office until you hear them talking outside
-Norfolk and Rittler never exit their meeting, unless you decide to poison a drink, in which case Rittler will conveniently come back to take a sip.

These are just examples from the first level, the second level also has them. Furthermore, an article by RPS was released that complains about this on the Paris levels, which are not tutorials by any stretch of the imagination.

This is a really huge deal-breaker in an otherwise great game and it needs to be adressed, either by:
A) Changing the scripts so that they are time-based and don't rely on 47's proximity
B) Adding an option on gameplay/difficulty setting that changes the A.I. so that the scripts are time based and don't rely on 47's proximity.

Does anyone else agree?

damn. I was hoping this game would go back to blood money.

Ah well... at least Styx is coming out with a new game...

this is the old game, on pc now...... stealth assination in an large maps with lots of different opportunites avaible to dispatch or get around.

I can't +1 this enough.

This is the deal breaker for me, if this is apart of the full game I'm getting a refund, I'm not paying for another Absolution.

At least in the first half of Absolution the world felt kind of alive, here nothing f*cking happens until you trigger it by being close enough, total deal breaker!

We should try telling them on twitter or something because I doubt they read these forums.
Maybe somebody will figure out how to make a mod that fixes it if IO doesn't listen.

Thanks for sharing this very important detail! I didn't played this new hitman but I liked all the others except Hitman:Abomination. If the scripting will stay like this I won't buy their ♥♥♥♥♥♥ episodic game.

It is an example of how the game operates. Pretty much all of the scripts require either proximity or direct action on the part of 47, and many of the scripts seem to not accept any deviation whatsoever.

Hopefully this is what the Beta is for and IO take note and action the changes.

For me the whole Hitman experience was being dropped into a living puzzle where the folk did their day to day things and I had to learn their patterns etc. Not set off localised triggers in order to see what happens next.
