Hitman Absolution characters...Are they gone forever?

I want to know, because we had missions in "intro video" about 20 years, we are now after Blood Money, or Absolution? Also is there possibility to see Cosmo Faulkner or Birdie, from previous game? What about the girl, named Victoria? Are these characters gone, or we see them later in this game or maybe next Hitman?

But if the new Hitman is set after Absolution why are they working for the agency? I am a bit confused. I thought, beacause 47 and Diana betrayed the agency the actual game takes place before Blood Money and Absolution but after Hitman 1 and 2 although the tech (smart phones) would not be appropriate. Also I read rumors on the internet that the new Hitman may start a entirely new storyline. Ofcourse the internet could have betrayed me. Again.

47 and diana rebuilt the agency once more, cause travis was the real traitor, i seen official statement of it somewhere gotta really find it again lol

Well, in the end she does say the money was transfered and 'welcome back' so it's highly implied.

My main disappointment with Absolution story is how they handled Diana. She was a mysterios disembodied voice, your guardian angel throughout 3 games (Codename 47-Contracts), then she stepped up in the story in Blood Money, but yet she played her role in a cunning, mysterious way, and her identity still wasn't revealed in the end.

Now, in Absolution they started the game with ruining the biggest mystery of previous four games. And that shower scene for adolescent audience. After that I was almost upset that she made it alive, after such disgrace.

I'm not happy that they brought her once again in prologue here, but in comparison with Absolution it's not that bad - they dropped the bar so low, that it'll be easy to exceed expectations.

And other characters from Absolution not even worth the mention. Cliche-superpowered-schoolgirl-in_short_skirt, cliche-dumbass-nemesis, cliche-slu.tty-nuns, cliche-spoiled-teenagers, etc. Everything was bad and tasteless. But with a well-done scenery in cutscenes.

Tbh, I expect our trip in the USA will tie up any loose Absolution threads - which there's only really one of anyway, being Birdie. Would not be surprised if we take him out at all. Victoria may get a line somewhere in the game, but she won't be appearing again - the whole point of the game was so she *wouldn't* become involved in that world and follow in 47's footsteps.

Maybe Absolution is "officially" cannon, but I think we're all better off just ignoring it and pretending it continues on from BM :D

Absolution's story sucked hard though, I'd be glad if it never reappears.
