47's own knife
47's got his ICA guns and gear but what about knifes?

I really enjoy going around with a knife or a screwdriver. I would really much like to have a cool ICA knife or something and some cool animations with it to take out your enemies with.

So adding a personal knife makes him a wannabe assassin?, wow okay.

Well then you have to remove all the obtainable objects in the map and also remove all the explosives in the gear section, and the coin as well.

There's a reason why you can kill in so many ways in this game. 47 can kill in any way possible, he's a professional, but maybe you were not aware of this?

Play the hitman games some more, educate yourself a bit more on how Hitman works.

As many of you will know, 47's original knife was a Pentagon (made by SOG). Double-edged, serrated one side, black rubber coated handle. Nice balanced knife. I bought one a few years ago and although I don't use it for assassinating anybody, it's handy in the kitchen :)

Yup in Hitman Codename 47. So I'm not just pulling someone out my ass, It's been in the game before. and I hope it will come back.

@Vengeance excellent post by the way, you're absolutely right. Well my friend, I expect the reason we stopped seeing the SOG Pentagon knife in the game was down to money. IOI's accountants and lawyers obviously didn't want to pay SOG Knives to have it in the game anymore, that's my guess. An accountant has reasoned (wrongly) that it's easier for IOI to have a generic kitchen knife than have to pay SOG (or Heckler and Koch, Colt, Beretta for that matter) "royalties". It's a joke really because in the real world this type of "licensing" results in less sales for the knife and gun makers, not more. It'd be so much simpler to keep the real names and just accept the free publicity and free advertising in the game. I mean I wouldn't have bought my SOG Pentagon if it wasn't for the Hitman games. They got my business, what else do they want? No, now the accountants and lawyers have decided they want that money for themselves so everybody else loses. That's how intelligent the current licensing and copyright model is. It's broken and needs to change back to how it was, don't you think?

Yea I couldn't agree more. Maybe they could just add a different knife model then, just make something cool and slap some fitting name onto it.

I started the ICA Escalation yesterday, and I had the knife out while approaching my target (I wanted to see if there was a reaction despite it not saying Visibly Armed) and he goes "Put that thing away, will you? It's dangerous! Sheesh, this is why we need gun control."

And I was like ...wut?
I miss the ability to keep and bring edged weapons into missions Hitman 2 style. Especially now that knives are more versitile than ever before (silent lethal weapon, thrown distraction, thrown lethal weapon, etc), they would be a welcome addition in the loadout (where as back in Hitman 2, they were just a slightly faster fiber wire).

Seems like lots of excellent ideas from previous Hitman titles are being left out here... the ability to customize weapons, a currency and notoriety system, sniper rifle briefcase, ability to bring a knife into the mission at your discretion, etc. These options all added something to the game and play styles -- very sad to see them absent so far from this release.

Well luckily we're just in the beginning of all of this so hopefully they will add this as the year goes on. Cus I do agree with you, I want them to add all that too. Just hope they listen.

More than that, I hope they CAN. Having something like a sniper briefcase added later could signifcantly alter the difficulty balance of a particular level if they never planned for it from the start, etc... and adding something like a weapon mod system to the game could require significant programing time and money.

It's not so much listening to us as it is "what did they plan from the begining and haven't had time to add yet". Things what I listed above aren't exactly quick fixes that can easily be patched in, unfortunately...
