Sniper assassin failed?

I thought the requirements were to kill all targets with a rifle and not get caught in the act. What am I missing? Is it because I killed a guard? Or because both were public kills?

Try actually reading the challenge instead of guessing

There is no description in game. This challenge is just listed under The Classics tab. Only tells me to get sniper assassin challenge X times. I am playing the showstopper level from within hitman 3.

Went another round and still didn't get it. Took the gun from agency pickup, left it on the barge, stole the remote without subduing the technician (I went for suit only), came back, lit it up and killed both targets with one bullet each within some 5-8 seconds of each other from the barge. I went down and got to the helicopter without being seen. I wasn't found trespassing till I pressed the exit mission button. What's still going wrong ?

It really would help if you read the challenges.

If you're referring to The Classics "challenge" there's several of them named that, just like there are several of them named Sniper Assassin that vary for each mission. There is one set for each mission at each difficulty tier. I'll pick one at random:

Complete all the Classics challenges on "The Showstopper" on Master Difficulty, then here's the list of other challenges this challenge wants from you, and it tells you this:

Assassinate your targets with a sniper rifle
Do not get spotted*
If you are detected by cameras, erase or destroy the evidence

*do not get spotted at all, if you are seen by a target and kill the target you've still failed this requirement
