every 1 sec microlag (stuttering)
So I actually own this game since it first came out and it had his fair share of hard times getting bugs fixed, then for a while it worked pretty good and without any issues. but coming back to this game a few months later I experience this microlag every 1sec now. no matter what I do.

Rig:
CPU: 17 6700K 4.7GHz
GPU: GTX 1080 8GB
RAM: 16GB 3000MHz
DRIVE: 256GB SSD

anyone has experience with this ?

have you tried dx11 instead of dx12?

do you have other things running in addition to the game?

some people have issues with afterburner, or evga precision

I don't have the mentioned tools installed. I will try DX11

Alright I tested DX11, no difference. But I did notice something else. The stutter seems to occur only when I look around or move. So when I do any keyboard/mouse or gamepad input. When I stand still the lag doesn't come.

Same here. I think it's because the framerate was uncapped with the latest patch (1.14.1 https://www.ioi.dk/hitman-de-release-notes/), before this patch the framerate was limited to 93-100fps, which allowed to avoid the micro frame drop between 90fps and 144+ fps.

https://www.hitmanforum.com/t/lower-cpu-utilization-and-less-fps-since-goty-update/19121/12

I use Guru3D RTSS to limit my fps to 93fps (seems to be the most stable value for my configuration, i7 4790K / GTX 970 4GB / 16GB RAM) and now my game is smooth and fluid, no more microstutter and got a lower CPU usage too.

if someone has another solution :)

I should try limiting the FPS to 60 FPS and check if it solves my issue.

Not sure what to tell you, you have what looks to be similar hardware to me and I've never had the issue even on max settings (at 2560x1440 resolution)

The only setting I've ever had to avoid is dx12 (its unstable)

Do you have other contollers plugged in?

Have you fully updated your system lately? (microsofts had some massive patches downloading lately if you automated updates turned on)

I spent a couple of hours on thursday downloading microsoft updates, the latest nvidia drivers and what felt like half a billion security updates from nortons, its been a wierd week for updates from eveything trying to fire off in the background (for me) so I went through and did them all manually

You could also verify the game files, might have had something corrupt during the latest patch

I feel like this should be something you should be able to fix, but I don't think you'd appreciate the entire list of basic PC maintanence and trouble shooting

my home machine is always up to date. I get what you mean but I wished it had something to do with that. I have 1 Xbox One Controller plugged in and DX11 with vsync on

do you play with the controller? I don't, so I have no idea what kind of issues it can cause, but I do see people complain about random issues (like unctrolled pausing)

Couple other things:

1. You have 3000mhz RAM, but is it actually set to that in the motherboard bios? (hate to ask, but it does default slower than this unless you manually set it to what its capable of)

2. Have you checked your RAM diagnostics lately? Always good to rule out the basic hardware issues quickly:

http://www.cnet.com/how-to/test-your-ram-with-windows-memory-diagnostic-tool/

3. Make sure that NV panel "Manage 3D setting(s) Global" are set to the following if not already:

Multi-Display: Single (unless using multi-displays)
Pwr Mgt Mode: Prefer Max Performance
Preferred refresh rate: Highest Avail

Sometimes, these settings are default to lower settings that can affect GPU performance... This suggestion is not a guarantee fix, but something to look at.

4. What kind of wire are you using to connect from your GPU to your monitor? I know some of the older HDMI cables used to cause visual stuttering if they were not super tight, unplug it and plug it back in again to test. (i have display port cables and havent had that issue in recent years)

5. This used to be an issue in windows 8, I haven't had to do it in windows 10 yet, but from a command line:
bcdedit /set disabledynamictick yes
bcdedit /set useplatformclock true

Video of how:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=482cvIuILT0

6. I think I'm out of ideas other than throwing lists like this at you:

void* : Did you try to limit your framerate to 90fps ? And disable VSYNC in-game / enable it in Nvidia Control Panel.

did you try playing the game in lowest settings, though you said there was no problem at all before so I dont know what is the issue. Try updating your audio/graphics drivers, or even formatting your PC. Or even reinstalling the game.. Try to disable your AV to see if it helps..
