What are you trying to rebind?
So go ahead use default keys and try changing those, every time you try it's like NOPE SORRY THAT IS ALREADY BOUND TO ANOTHER KEY and cancels it. So you have to rebind another key to change a key, then change it again.
Duh?
How is that different from any other game? It would be ignorant to let you bind a key that is already bound, of course you need to clear the key you want to use.
Otherwise you would have two functions on the same key.
Then again I shouldn't expect logic from someone who thinks EDSF makes any sense over WASD.
WSAD requires you to put your hand over a key to the left for no reason, nevermind a good one, I can think of.
EDSF has your hand where it naturally should be which also allows you to feel that you're on the right keys without looking thanks to the notch that is found on the F key for that very reason.
It makes no sense to me but since you seem to think you're clever please explain and while you're at it show me another game that denies keybinds in the same way this game does.
edit: Since I use EDSF I rebind keys in every single game I've ever played starting with DukeNukem 3D lol
Just resting my hand on my keyboard places my thumb on the spacebar, my index on D, my middle on W, my ring finger on A, and my pinky on shift.
If I need any extra keybind near that, I just use Q, E, extra mouse buttons, and in MMO games, I can combine standard keys A-Z with holding shift for a separate function.
No, not that small. Just small enough to make using ESDF make no sense when most games need a "hold this button to sprint" key, and shift works so well.
well, ussually a games approach to you rebinding an action to a key that also responds to another action is to remove the one not actively trying to be changed.
I myself use esdf ever since I grew up on old quake tournament, in any case I don't see how that pointless critique is relevant or even remotely helpful.
dual binding is actually a very common thing as most actions are situational, like mouse 1 being shoot and open door in resident evil. yet again, in any case I don't see how this pointless critique is relevant or even remotely helpful.
If at any point you feel like dropping some relatively usefull info or something just in general that isn't you blatantly coming on to the *HELP* *FORUMS* just to argue, insult, and continue misusing the term ignorant (which in itself is ironic) then please by all means, hit me up.
Otherwise I find myself having this same issue with HITMAN 2, it screams at me that something else is already bound to it and doesn't bother unbinding the key that i'm trying to change.
The only thing I can think of doing really is digging thru the config files, finding the keybinds file and just manually changing the keys.
It's a pain in the ass, i'm sure you can find how to do it on youtube.
edit: or just come to think of it since there's not too many binds just move all the general ones you're trying to replace to the numpad keys and then adjust them one at a time to the ones you want
Can't be arsed with games that force me to use controls other than the ones I am used to, so it shall be uninstalled. I don't remember the previous game being doing this, i'm pretty sure i was able to use the mmb to sprint!?
Inventory on tab, etc
