Why is the Silver Baller the best?
I recently went back to seriously play this game, and I notice on forums that people think the Silver Baller is the best. Could anyone explain why?
I get that it's real accurate with the marksman perk, but there's gotta be something more, right?

It just looks cool and is basically "Hitman" along with fibrer wire.

Though it does appears to have more damage from my anecdotal evidence, maybe. Though I would say, objectively, Marksman alone (and silencer I guess) makes it the best pistol.

Technically it's 2nd best, it just happens to be one of the easiest weapons to unlock and is superior to 99% of the other pistols in the game

The "best" is the Krugermeier 2-2 it is notably quieter than any other silenced weapon (the regular silenced weapons have a silencer but are still audible within a short range, the Krugermeier is silencer + low velocity ammo and makes no sound even when firing from right behind someone)(bullet impact still makes noise, but you shouldn't be missing unless you are intentionally using the sound as a distraction)

I mean, what else are you comparing it with?

Non silenced weapons have no value in a silent-assassin run attempt (which is the highest rating you can achieve), therefore they exist only as novelty for those that feel like being rambo for a day.

Comparing silenced weapons the silver baller is clearly superior to most due to the aim perk (hold shift, tighten the spread pattern). The only functionally superior silenced pistol being the krugermeier due to it's maximum noise prevention

Beyond that, all the weapons are functional. But if you are going to debate best you are haggling over the minor differences and those are the only two stand out weapons with improvements worth discussing

I mean from a technical standpoint, what do you even "need" a pistol for? Every main mission can be completed without one. Anything you might bother to use one for is purely optional, shooting cameras, maknig distractions, etc.You either need it to be accurate or super quiet.

If you aren't using for either of those functions, the rest of the guns are your choice of flavor for whatever results you feel like accomplishing

I mean, you could use the striker if you just feel like making bodies fly around the room

Not the best, just a signature weapon of the series.

You can clean the entire map with any pistol, if you aim for the head as you should.

Then again this is Hitman, you shouldn't be using Firearms whasoever (unless you shooting cameras or trying to distract the enemy).

I really don't think someone needs to be questioned or lectured for using a pistol nor asking about a pistol. Yeah, you don't "need" it, but so many things in Hitman you don't need either. Sometimes is fun to try and fully recover from a big screw up. We don't have to assume the OP don't know how to play properly. I mean really, is people not allowed to ask just for curiosity sake?

I mean, you don't have to use shotgun, but if someone asks which one is the best, are people gonna give them a lecture on how to play the game?

"Best" is really subjective. In absolute categories, there are concrete answers. Damage? Striker? Silenced? Kruigermeier? I would say is actually the best in versatility which makes it better in my mind than any of the other weapons. Ability to deal damage if needed, precise shot if needed yet still quiet. I mean, if I go in a level that I haven't played before, I probably going to take the Silverballer just because I don't know what trouble I will get myself in. And getting out of trouble is part of the fun too.

Honestly, being the only pistol with the accuracy-zoom gives it some huge practical benefits that makes it a must in some maps.

Clearest example might be sniping the virus-canister on Sapienza. You can do it from a long distance, on top of the cliff that overlooks the whole complex, by using the accuracy-zoom (use the CTRL function to highlite the canister).
No witnesses, easy, saves you minutes, as well as spares you any danger of sneaking your way into the containment-unit. Only the silverballer lets you do that, unless you're carrying around a rifle.

sometimes you want the total-silence of the kruger, but otherwise, the baller's aim is nice to have. shooting a chandelier wire from a distance? baller

I prefer the pistol with the silencer and the much larger mag. But the Silver Baller is just iconic. I am a bit surprised you cannot wield two of them.

A thng that makes the silverballer a easy pick. Its the only silenced gun with fair amount of ammo, and it has the trait precise, wich means you can pick off targets FAR beoynd the normal range, without having to reley on luck.

IMO the 5mm is the best. Just easier to use and more convenient.

eerhm. That might be the case. BUT. HWK 21 covert (if that was the gun you ment) is missing the most importaint trait. Precision on long ranges. The HWK also have reduced range. So my advise to the HWK if we talk, is not to be jalous on the baller. ;)

Yeah, that was the one I meant. I also prefer the Silverballers, but you said the Ballers were the only silenced pistol with a fair amount of ammo which is just plain wrong.

And what mission requires that many bullets from long range?

If you are going to do that much shooting, bring a sniper

It has "baller" in the name.
