Does anyone know how many enemies total can be infected without disrupting any of their paths or killing them prematurely?

Assuming you are willing to knock out 1 single person (and leave their body where no one will find it).

It's possible to infect virtually all the people without disrupting any additional paths and without killing anyone

You can infect 99% of the map before knocking out anyone else, and you can infect 100% of the map before killing anyone

I personally did the challenge "you know the number" by 100% infecting the map and killing every single person everywhere as a target, without even 1 non-target kill

This was my approach, feel free to adapt from it:

From the starting location, distract 1 of the guards above you (having a conversation) on the helicoptor platform. You can get him to path down the stairs alone and knock him out (if you need a coin there is one in the little utility room right next to where you start, under the heli platform)

By using that coin you can bring the door hacking device, a weapon and a smuggled weapon without needing to bring any distration devices with you in inventory at start

Change into that guards outfit. If you leave his body down the stairs a bit, no one will find it on their normal walking paths (they might find it later if you set off alarms and they go searching ~ if you care that much you can drag him all the way down to the closet where the coin was and hide it)

That guards outfit with the mask gives you access to nearly everything. The hacking device will let you in the few places that it doesn't. You can at that point also walk down and retrieve your smuggled item/weapon and carry any weapon type without alerts.

There are very few enforcers for that outfit and they are all easy to avoid.

To infect the majority of the map, you will need to be the virus carrier. To do this most efficiently I suggest you start with the first +infected person. You may notice it's always the same nurse.

The virus is contained well at first, but there's a nurse who comes in from the back stairs into the quarantine area without a suit on. She stupidly gets herself infected and it spreads from there. From the helipad if you go left around the building to the back stairs (down would be the morgue, up is the hospital) you'll find she uses the stairs a few minutes after the map starts.

Once you find her, get infected. Figure out a path that takes you around the hospital. I personally ran down into the garage, up through the steam baths, out into the patient walkways, over into the restaraunt, out through the garden, back into the top floor of the hospital and then down into the morgue.

You have 4 minutes and 50 seconds to complete this run and must end your path right at the cure injection. (you will need to distract the guard outside the door). You need 10 seconds to inject yourself with the cure (the animation takes roughly that long, I've killed myself getting there with 9 seconds left) (note that there's also a challenge for waiting that long, so even if you get there sooner you will want to wait until you have 10 seconds left to get the "lucky shot" challenge)

Assuming you found yourself a good path around the map, you will have just infected everyone with the exception of the people in hazmat suits, and you may have missed a couple odds and ends (the director in his office, some of the stand alone guards in side halls, etc)

I know the last time I did this I was at 80+ infected and though I missed a few, most got infected just from others wandering near them and I had 90+ infected before I started killing.

If you want to 100% infect the map you will need to start knocking people out at this point. All the people in hazmat suits need to be knocked out, stripped naked and dragged near someone who is infected (the infected person can be knocked out ~ just not dead, the virus can't live in a corpse and dies with the host)

What I did was make a knocked out pile of hazmat people who I stripped naked, then dragged a virus person into the pile and walked away for a moment while the virus spread.

You can do the same with anyone else you missed the first time around (I missed the director and a couple of guards). Just knock them out and drag them near a knocked out virus person

Decide for yourself at what point you want to start killing.

But basically if done correctly your 5 minutes of being infected can be used to infect pretty much everyone but the hazmat suits while disrupting only the original guard that you took a uniform from.

And the entire map can be infected after that if you are willing to knock out and strip naked all the hazmats.

If you don't want to run around as the guard, consider getting the hospital directors outfit instead, though you won't be able to carry visible weapons as him, and you'll need to disrupt more people on your way to getting that outfit. The guard at the beginning is pretty much the easiest most versatile way of getting around the map from the start.

(you know the number challenge is for having 47 infected people as targets, lucky shot is for saving yourself with the injection with just seconds left on the clock, I don't know how close to death you need to be, I did it with 10 seconds left)

see i was going through the morgue and waiting until the most people were infected, it stopped on its own around 81, leaving just the hazmat guys and some drs and guards and a single gardner, i didnt check the other side of the map yet though. im going for a silent assassin kill everyone run.

They will if you walk past them with the infection, you can infect all of them yourself without disrupting their routines

They are spread out enough you could probably do it in your suit, but it would be easier with the guard guard outfit, there's only a couple of enforcers for it down there, both easy to avoid being spotted by

Silent Assassin kill all is very possible for that map, it's just a matter of going slow and methodical. Done correctly it would probably take you 5 to 10 minutes to infect the entire map, and then whatever amount of time to slowly kill them all SA

Either way, SA you can change your suit to another disguise, you'll need to do that anyway to infect the knocked out hazmats if you want 100% target kills

yeah i know there's enemies that dont get infected on their own, the morgue workers and 2 guards down in the morgue area are some of them, sorry if i wasnt specific enough about the question, but i was meaning without personally infecting them or killing anyone before everyone who can be infected just by the paths of the actual people is infected, to minimize the amount of people i have to knock out and infect manually, to increase the difficulty of taking everyone out without breaking stealth for a kill everyone silent assassin run. ill update with the total that can be passively infected incase anyone else was curious just going to have to leave the game running a while on the level
