HITMAN™
Silvio Caruso
So i'm only on the 2nd actual mission, which is to kill caruso and some lady for trying to make a virus or whatever. so far though, it seems that the people we're going after are portrayed as being these terrible, evil, people. Why do they have to do this? We're playing as an almost emotionless hitman, we shouldn't need to be persuaded to take out the targets we're after.

Well, the virus IS kind of a big deal. Do you know what kind of virus it is?

a non-bacterial virus
a virus that can kill anyone anywhere anytime, so ye it should be obvious

Not everyone is terrible and evil, especially the Elusives. Heck, The Icon in the bonus mission just went over budget on a movie. If that was an assassination-worthy event, then half the directors in Hollywood would be dead.

The Food Critic was killed because he's a ♥♥♥♥. Gary Busey was killed because he's basically crazy. The Twin was killed because his brother wanted his watch.
OP, thats where contracts mode comes in. I'm actually glad most story wise targets are horrible, evil people. There's alot of games where you can go kill compeltely innocent people, heck, you can technically do it in Hitman too, but cannon 47 wouldnt do such. Also, from what I gathered in Absolution, 47 does have traces of feelings, no? He did cut off his barcode afterall in anger or guilt. Unless it all got retconned?

Also OP, there's been a few cases where 47 has killed innocent people. The pizza delivery guy got taken down in one of the older games, believe it was contracts. He killed him by "mistake", thinking it was an assassin or such, from what I remember.

Any true Hitman fan has already bleached Absolution from the canon of the games.

I don't remember anything about a pizza delivery guy or any mistakes in Contracts (And I replayed it for the past five days).

Do you mean in Silent Assassin when 47 realised he killed the twin of the target?

I guess the guy was a mercenary then? In disguise? I always thought he was an innocent delivery guy?
hitman would kill a 6 year old little girl with cancer if that was the contract. "a contract is a contract" - code 47

it's a innocent, you can see he just do his job, he doesn't want to hurt 47

Or he was doing some recon, but i think this scene is just here for show the 47 in his true nature

agree. i think he must have shot him for... safety reasons, because he could have read the one part from the letter and thus already knew more than he should. pretty much what every professional should, leave no trace and no witness that can know even little more

Diana comments this just for curiosity 47 does not care who or how is his target

I know, this is only about story mode. not the game in general, I stated that from the beginning.

ik, i played that mission just 3 days ago. it's pretty much the plot of winter soldier though, but a virus instead of the computer system, lol.
Because people project themselves onto the character, and only sick minded people love to hurt innocents.
