Everyone messes up on their first playthrough of a mission, that's why you keep replaying until you know each map like the back of your hand.

This series has always been about exploration, discovery, and optimization through knowledge gained in repeated playthroughs.

Hitman is more of a puzzle game than stealth action. Exceptions are of course Absolution... as well as the ability to play the game as a stealth action game if you so prefer (but it tends to be incredibly difficult).

If you become comprimised while playing... use that knowledge. Think about what you did to get comrpomised, and then don't do that again. Try something else.

There's a reason why you need to gain mastery to unlock everything, and a reason why you need to replay levels in order to complete challenges in order to gain mastery. It's all part of the Hitman experience. Learn. Adapt. Retry. User your knowledge of the level and mechanics to kill your targets in all kinds of ways.

OR, smuggle in a shotgun in the planning screen and start shooting people if things don't go your way the first time. Doesn't matter.

You can still have silent assassin even if you are compromised. Never spotted bonus is ruined when a NPC spotted you (you hear a little sound when it's the case) and/or that NPC report what he saw to a guard.

It means your cover is blown and you need to find another disguise. If you do any challenges that require the ''Do not get spotted'' order then you blew it so you have to load a previous save or restart.

Getting compromised ruins your current disguise to people. They'll be highlighted orange in instinct mode. Civilians will run to guards and tattle on you; guards will become alert and try to find you, and if they meet more guards those guards will become alert. Switching disguises will fix that, though.

I'm not sure if getting compromised will itself cause you to lose the "Never Spotted" bonus; I have personally hid compromised NPCs in boxes (they became compromised by me doing takedowns on them) and not losing it.
