No, as long as they don't see you shoot (or other npcs) it doesn't count as being spotted

It counts as getting spotted since the big December update.

Ooh, nice.

Whoa, this is news to me. So if I shoot some regular dude in the leg, as long as he didn't see me fire the shot, I can go up to his body, smack him in the face and then hide him without any consequences? I figured he would be able to "see" me when walking up to knock him out, but honestly I didn't even know that you could totally immobilize somebody with a shot to the leg... I'm always dome-scoping. This is good stuff.

Its nice cinematographic feature, but in 99% of the cases u have a generic object to throw in thir head

I forget the exact uses of the leg shot, I know it's something the top speedrunners were good at. Something like taking them down before the animation ended wouldn't count as being spotted, even if you shot them from the front or something like that- but the timing was hard to do since the animation is over quickly. I recall it used to say something like "unconscious witness" even if you did it right, which would personally make me uncertain over losing SA.

Yes. For isntance the user ForTheSeven, probably the most famlus HITMAN speedrunner utilized it several times. Actually what he did was shooting one in the leg -> killing the target -> knocking the unconscious the shot one. But I assume you should have a sort of reflexes comparable to 47's assumed one's. It's difficult for most of us. I can't even place normal headshots. Really. Even with Razer mouse and keyboard, I still sometimes would rather walk and strafe to put a target under crosshair, instead of aiming with mouse.
I'm real stealth fan. And aiming is not my thing. I would rather prefer maze-like running and hiding, calculating every step of each NPC, than place a couple of well-aimed shots.

Correct, also when not entering combat. There was a featured contract, Tunnel Snakes Rule iirc. Play that over and over to master leg shots and crouch-stand throws. :Original_Assassin:

Actually I assume leg-shot is never "Crime Spotted". It is rather treated as "shots heard".

Did anyone check, if you shot the leg from behind a corner and hide or run away, would it be crime spotted?

Thanks for your responses,

I'll try to check that.
