Autosaves still do not work for me, and I am not sure how to fix, but the problem seems relatively isolated to only a few people.
Hope this helps!
Good luck on the manual saves.
Don't know if you are still playing Hitman (2016) these days but I'll share anyways.
My problem was the game was having a conflict with game save locations.
Unlock win10 admin account:
In run cmd as admin, then type: net user administrator /active:yes
log out of your regular win10 user account and sign in as admin (it would be a good idea to create a password for this account while you are logged into it).
As admin go to steam/userdata/########/ then delete folder 236870.
I had two folders named with 8-9 digits in my userdata, and both folders had a folder within named 236870, so I deleted both of them.
Deleting local saves for hitman is ok since it's all save online.
Log back into your regular windows user account and launch game. all the manual save and auto save slots will be populated by your last save attempt in that slot.
