One big issue I had though is quitting the game kept my tv in hdr mode, which was really weird to see other programs colors all off. Turning the TV off and back on again fixed it, but that's the only real problem I've encountered so far.
But HDR would normally want limited, 4:2:2/10bit (or 12) (which is what a console, DVD played, etc. would do for HDR.)
It is also what RE7 needed not to be super dark.
I hope there is some standard. Becaue i don't want to keep changing color space for each different HDR game.
Of course, the perfect world would be more bandwidth (DP 1.4 or HDMI 2.1) so one could do RGB/Full/10bit
Of course it wouldn't help with hitman (as it is now) because hitman wants RGB/full :)
It's something in your settings. Make sure to check all the picture options. My 4k display "Samsung" has something called "Digital Clean View" and "Auto Motion Plus". I turn Digital Clean View to Off and Auto Motion to Smooth. Otherwise the screen, especially the shadows seem washed out and framerate isn't smooth. Many newer televsion have built in sync which can help refresh rate.
In a game mode motion plus or other such features disabled because it adds to input lag. Those are also fixes for issues with frame rate. I not have frame rate issues with two titan X(P)
If you aren't having problems. What color space are you using? This game is odd as HDR seems to be set using RGB/full. Which is normal for a PC game, but not for HR, which would be YCbCr 4:2:2 and 10bit (or higher)
of course if you wan't playing in 4k.. then it matters less, but there is less bandwidth you one isn't limited.
My setup is Windows 10 with GeForce 970 -> Yamaha RX-V581 -> Samsung KS8000. This game looks fantastic with HDR!
what color space are you using? RGB? or YCbCr? 8bit or 10bit(or 12)
I can get it to work with RGB/8bit, but it doesn't look great. non-HRD looks better.
windows 10 with Titan X(P) SLI -> Denon AVR-X7200WA --> LG OLED65G6P
are you @ 4k?
To get games to use HDR after creators update, I have to make Nvidia CP set to YcbCr 422 10bit or 12bit. But now my games also have 30% less fps wtf? If go back to RGB Full non HDR my fps is back to full.
Also, if I try HDR with RGB Full the colors are extremly washed out and dimm.
After creators update everything seems to go backwards!!!!
Yeah, it is BS that i have to switch settings on my PC just to play HDR games and back again for everything else. Next year we should see TVs we HDMI 2.1 so we can get 10bit, RGB, full.
My dream is to get a 77" OLED with 2.1 next year.. sadly i think the pricing will be super crazy still.
For the PC side, these HDR monitors will use displayport. even old DP 1.2 can do 10bit, rgb, full.
What settings do you use to get the PC to play games with HDR and what drivers are you sing?
I had to roll back to 378.92 to use RGB Full in desktop so the colors arn't washed out and still launch games in HDR. If I use the new drivers, the color is washed out and dull.
But HMDI can't do 10bit without "limited" Output dynamic range.
First, hitman doesn't really look any better with HDR (same with shadow warrior 2.. which also support HDR on the PC.) RE7 and crappy mass effect look real good in HDR.
For HDR use
10bit color, YCbCr422, Limited.
for everything else use 8bit, RGB, Full.
the impact of higher color depth you don't really notice, but limit/full you will.

tje chroma subsampling is a big deal and you really notice it on black details, which is major when looking at the desktop.
*NOTE: If using the latest version of windows 10 (1703... "creators update") - there is a "feature" unders display to turn on advanced color. Turn that off!! It turns on HDR all the time. ugh.. it is crazy :) a desktop in HDR looks like poo.
