And this "fans" who wanted - can now go and f*ck them self. They killed Hitman title and ioi. They can be proud with themselves.
All of that u said "new characters" - are faceless cheap cr*p against Hitman Absolution characters.
First of all, you need to learn how to read and not make imaginary assumptions based on what I have written. I never talked about the structure of Absolution. I simply mentioned a fact which is that Absolution was the most successful Hitman game because it generated the most income due to having the most sales and bringing new players to the series. Now where you got that I hailed Absolutions structure and gameplay is beyond me.
A game selling well doesn't make it good. Are you lunatic or is that your approach to writing a new version of Economics 101? Sales speak for themselves whether a game is successful or not. Because if sales hit rock bottom (like it did for the newest Hitman), you get your developers fired and the franchise discontinued. Not rocket science indeed. Now whether you like popular titles (e.g. FFXV) that sell well or not does not say much since your opinion is purely subjective and irrelevant.
"Seeing how you use the fact that it sold the most, as in the most successful, (which quite honestly isn't as hard as you think because the gaming industry has grown so big that every new title of an old series will by default sell more)".
Another baseless statement. Let's take CoD Infinite Warfare as an example since Call of Duty is the most popular fps game out there and previous iteration have done records in sales. Yet Infinite Warfare hit rock bottom in terms of sales. According to your logic sales don't say much about the success of the game, yet there was no success story about this iteration of the game. There are thousands of examples like that. But apparently according to your standards a game is successful if Steam user "I am though" liked it. Cool story!
Another thing, Hitman fanbase is nothing more than a vocal minority. The fanbase of the game is really small and the hardcore fanbase even smaller. This becomes apparent from the newest Hitman sales as well, which are minuscule. The reason Absolution had so many sales is because it attracted many new players to the series, not because more fans bought it.
Last but not least, you say that you disagree wholeheartedly when there is nothing to disagree with when it comes to facts. Sales are sales and tell the biggest part of the tale whether you like it or not. The only thing you can disagree with me is that you didn't enjoy Absolution and that's fair because that is your opinion. But don't try to generalise your opinion in an effort to make it sound as a fact, because it's not.

Oddly enough, I prefer the newer graphics better
Everything you wrote is just plain wrong. Absolution looks better as Hitman 2016 is the cherry on top. You need to get your eyes checked mate. lol
While there is a legit difference in quality in this screenshot maybe compare environments, size of levels and other things that actually matter.
I never said you did. So now you're actually the one making "imaginary assumptions" because i referred to the poster i quoted first, to which you responded, who was actually the one making said claim.
So yeah l2r and comprehend and all that. lol
I don't know if you're touched or something but for people who can think reasonably it actually makes quite a lot of sense.
There are enough bad games which sold well to prove that. Remember No Man's Sky? Literal crap like that.
This sentence makes 0 sense. Try again.
SE's demand for always online and episodic content to minimize risk did that to the game (as established by how people are responding here). There is no one else to blame but them for how this game sold. People were rightfully cautious after the crapshow that Absolution was and SE's demands sold the deal.
I would have bought the game on release if it was a full game without always online and going by the general consensus here i am not the only one. SE's steered this game off a cliff not us customers.
It might as well be considering how difficult it seems for you to grasp. Popular doesn't guarantee it's a quality game. FFXV is a half baked try to be a western RPG instead of building on it's roots and it shows. Nowhere near as good as western RPG's they try to imitate and way worse than traditional JRPG's like P5 for example.
And lastly: your opinion is also as irrelevant as mine so stop puffing yourself up with your false knowledge and wide gaps in logic.
Get real.
Size of levels and other things? It made a difference in 2010. Check out some open world 2014-2017 Watch_dogs, Assassins Creed or Witcher 3 and compare it with Hitman 2016 - sh*t. And its s*cks ballz, mate.
You clearly are and that's why now you ask me to compare it to other better looking games (which are all massive open world games) because you know what you said is laughably wrong.
We're comparing Absolution to Hitman 2016 and nothing else. As such you are wrong. Too bad.
Edit: Maybe you just prefer the coloring and aggressive bloom everywhere that Absolution offers. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Pointless to continue discussing with you since you only cherry pick whatever fits your argument and mention that while ignoring everything else. You clearly have no comprehension of what constitutes "successful" for a company and have zero understanding how business works. In other words, the ideal couch analyst that thinks he knows too much about how the world of grown ups runs when he hasn't left his basement yet.
If I could gift you items via steam, I would gift you an Oxford Dictionary so that you can look what constitutes "opinion" and what constitutes "fact", because sadly you seem to misinterpret these two terms (and not only).
Overall, what you are doing is trying to argue facts as if they are opinions because they fit your argument. Pretty childish. I think it servers no purpose to continue this discussion with an average Joe who can't distinguish apples from bananas. End of discussion.
Hold... Hold on a sec....
BWHAHAAHAHHAHAAA
Did someone just say that absolutions characters have more.. character to them?! EHWAHAHAHAHA
Hang on lemme think of a character from that game.... Oh wait, all I remember is a bunch of fetish nun women with guns on a level that played like a first person shooter more than a stealth game. Then some cowboy dude an his wife, dont know their names, some little girl thing and some guy in a chopper.
Meanwhile on this hitman I remember Diana, Soders, Yuki Yamazaki, Helmut Kruger, Silvio Caruso, Sean Rose. This is all from the top of my head. Absolution all I remember is diana, and you kill her. well "Kill her" in some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ fake death plot that I suspected the entire time.
Wow you're a bit of an idiot huh?
Lets take a good example of FACTS here shall we? Hitman blood money came out. It got sales, people started to love it, a select number of the gaming community, they loved it so much that when Absolution was announced they raved for it an told all their friends why?
Well lets break it down for you idiots out there
Number 1. It uses the same franchise name "Hitman" so they expect a game that offers more than the last and has a similar style
Number 2. Hype, all they had with blood money was good times, they want another hitman
Number 3. Pre-orders, every single hitman bloody money fan would have pounced at this game.
There is why absolution has its sales. Because of the good experience from blood money.
Now, Hitman 2016 After Absolution
Why didnt it sell as well? oh yeah lemme break that down for ya too
1. Absolution was a complete let down, not a bad game, but not a good hitman game
Missing/horrible features include:
Armory
Customisation
Levels became linear af. Not many ways to kill.
"instinct" aka, i'm a noob lemme just get rid of mad heat by rubbing my head.
2. Because of the failure absolution was, people didnt expect much from Hitman 2016, they expected to be let down
3. Worries rise with episodic release and online capabilities built into it
4. After the game finally got its complete edition out and all episodes released THEN people were getting it, but it was too late.
5. People suprisingly love it, and this Hitman has one of the best hitman levels available which is Sapienza, this isnt blown out of my backside, Lots of people agree, it became so good it got nominated for rewards and the devs did a whole backstory about the creation of sapienza.
Now, what does this teach us? Oh yeah, a game can have 2 BILLION sales, and yet still be a piece of turd, why? Hype, expectations from previous games and long time fans. And with Vice Versa, this can cause a game to sell horribly if its last installment (absolution) was a complete letdown. Oh lookie here! Look what happened ;) Get educated.
