All we can do is hope in a future patch they do something to speed the game up. Don't hold your breath though.

EDIT: I suspect it's your CPU. You know the speedbar, on fast the game runs in-game? Don't speed it up to the 4th or 5th bar or your computer might crash. Just live it at 2 or 3.
Moving up to Windows 10 as well wouldnt hurt.
You have to keep up with technology if you want to game.
