Stuck on an island

Anyone knows how to get of an island with an army that got stuck there when a peace agreement was made?

What happend:
I put 10 infantry on the island of Rhodes using transports with the intention of doing a siege when suddenly the leader of my alliance sued for peace. Now i can't get the transports to a dock there to transport troops.

Anyone got any suggestions? Is this a bug or am I missing something.

You don't have to get the transports to a dock, just put them in the adjacent sea and walk your troops on them.

you dont dock
ships stay out at sea and then load your land troops from there.
click yuor troops
right click over your ships
troops will move.

The normal way does not work? I mean... Sail a ship next to province, select your army and right-click the ship to move there. Not sure how the exiled armies work.

Well that doesnt work so I guess it's bug. The load troopes button is greyed out. Thanks for your answers tho, Ill keep trying.

No, you don't have to use the load troops button for that. Just select the units and right click on the transports.

lol, lets forget about me asking this question as I'm feeling a bit silly now. That above worked after making a new unit with the same number of infantry as the number of transports. When you select the load troops option when loading soliders onto a ship you dont have to have the exakt same number. When you walk onto a boat like described above, you have to have the exact same number.

or disband them and build them else where if you cant load them on ships but if u have enough transports you should be able to load them at sea

i did have a similar problem, after a peace deal my troops were in an island of a newly liberated french minor and france wouldnt give me military acces (lets just say we didnt end the war on good terms)...
the only thing i could think of was to retrain my entire army :/

Well that is just a waste of time as the cost to your country is HUGE!

I think it's a bug as I was called into a war for Portugal against Morocco. When they sued for peace my army got stuck and I couldn't dock my ships in a Portuguese port even though they are my allies and even after I asked for military access, just to be sure.

To dock ships in an ally's port you have to ask for naval access, which is separate to military access. It also costs you money every month, so only get it when you absolutely need it, then cancel it again.

You need one transport ship for every regiment being carried. That still applies if you click the 'Load Troops' button when your fleet is in port - but what happens then is that the excess troops are just left behind when the fleet sails away.

First you have to split your army to groups with smaller number than your transport ship's number. Then you can easily click and move in to the ship.

select your troops and right click on the province of destination. The window offering you to use your transport ships will open, click accept

If I remember correctly, this is a DLC feature which did not exist back in 2013.
