Worried about EU5
I just wanted to get this off my chest.

I dislike the ever worsening predatory DLC practise of companies.
I find the DLCs for EU4 were borderline and am worried that it will get even worse for EU5.

Dear Paradox. I am not a piggy bank that you can keep milking. I literally buy less of your games, as I do not want to spend 100s every year on DLC. Plus the quality of the DLCs is getting worse.

So please release EU5 in a good state and please stop locking everything behind DLCs.

I hope the community is behind me, as if we keep letting companies milk us, we will keep getting gutted releases and overpriced DLCs and addons.

You're deliberately distorting what I say, Piett. "Eventually someday" is not nearly good enough. Within two weeks IS good enough. And that's why I'm not contradicting myself. I got content I loved within two weeks of release. Because of that patience thing I mentioned, 14 days of delay meant absolutely nothing to me.

Criticizing bugs that get stomped on immediately: waste of my time.
Criticizing game design decisions that I think are bad and can be fixed: worth my time.
So in your mind 2 weeks is "immediately"?

Also criticism of Leviathan was mostly the latter of your two options: game decisions like "farm out DLC development to subcontracted studios", "doing minimal pre-release QA", and "officially calling people with legitimate criticisms of the game 'toxic trolls'"

Yes, it is.

If bug fixes take that long, that means there was little to no QA done before the release. Are you accepting of little to no pre release QA being performed?
If problems get fixed that fast, yes I am. How many times must I repeat this? A couple weeks waiting for a patch matters not at all to me.

So then what exactly are we paying for on release, if it's acceptable that 100% of the content be broken on release?
I'm done trying to answer this endless series of recursive questions.
The white knighting is strong with this one. Marquoz has stated that pre release QA is not necessary when charging people money for content. Incredible

He has answered, you just dont like his answers mate.
Basically he loves EU4 and he doesnt have too many issues with how its development cycle went, how much DLC was released and how much it cost.
Why does it matter so much what he thinks?
The topic is EU5 my friend.

That's not correct
He doesn't answer the questions, he just restates the same PDX apologist thing over and over again even though i'm asking different questions

Answer me this: is pre release QA necessary?

OK, pre release QA is necessary to the extent that the product user requires to use the product without the product creator incurring any liabilities

Its very subjective.

Marquoz only has his own perspective and reality. He understands how things in his world work, and thats all he needs to understand. He doesnt have to conform to what he desires not too.

Thats not being disrespectful, its how it is.
我上一个责备p社的发言被删了,难绷,哈基p的大手发力了,不利于哈基p赚钱的话不要乱说!

First of all, folks, we need to make it clear: game companies should serve players, not the other way around.

If Paradox Interactive delivers subpar products, we as consumers should hold them accountable instead of blindly making excuses for them. This kind of tolerance only encourages the growing arrogance and laziness we’ve seen from Paradox Interactive in recent years, leading them to pump out one low-quality, overpriced DLC after another—like the disastrous Leviathan DLC.

Crusader Kings 3 has been out for over five years now, yet Paradox Interactive still hasn’t fully integrated content from Crusader Kings 2. Instead, they keep churning out meaningless cosmetic packs to squeeze money from players.

If Paradox Interactive continues to ignore player feedback, maybe it’s time we teach them a lesson through other reasonable channels!

He answered, you just did not like the answer and insulted him, spamed your question in spite of having it fully answered. Your OT posting derailing of the thread, is a tactic you complain about others doing, but here you are not holding yourself to the same standards you try and impose on others.

Where did I insult him?

Where did he answer the question "what are we paying for if pre release QA isn't necessary?"?
Rooter a écrit :
Because you increase the price of your bakery products to compensate for the increased price of eggs.
People are complaining about the price of eggs.

Nah, only a temporary surcharge on very specific egg-heavy products such as macarons.

But, just to reiterate, the price of video games has gone up +40% in 25 years. The price of eggs has gone up +900% in 2 years. It's not an apples to apples comparison. It's more like a video games to eggs comparison.
