By "bump it up", do you mean altering the resolution in Video Settings?

i did try lowering the resolution, it doesnt look good on this monitor. is it supposed to be so dang small, its crazy

I think it's just that the average computer now has much finer resolution than it did when the game's graphics were finalized. I recently got a new laptop and was surprised by how much smaller a lot of the UI was (though I got used to it and don't mind now, personally I like having more information fit on my screen).

You're most likely going to have to play around with either the game resolution of your computer resolution to reach something you like.

i tried lowering the res, and i messed with the dpi settings in windows and also did some compatibility application features. nothing is satisfactory.

i think i can get used to it, there are tiny little buttons all over the place and once i know what they are i think it will get easier.

try lossless scaling

you could use the scale_ui mod: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1095412287 But that is complicated to install

I think it is compatible if you remove the minimap part. I don't know how broken the minimap will be without it though

Isn't there an option for just making the UI bigger? I'm sure there is. Other Paradox games have it, had to change it myself for Imperator: Rome and CK3.

there is a gui option, but I tried 1.1, 1.2, 1.4, 1.5, 2.0. not happy with the results. this isn't something that can be fixed with just scaling.

It was when I tried dsr 1.5, and gui 2.0 that it made me realize the text isn't scaling properly because the whole design is lazy, there is work to be done to make this feature work, they need to program new fonts and add them into the game.

this leaves the mods, im gonna give these a shot and see if i can't verify absolutely that this program will not interfere with mp, ie 100% stable.
