How to grant independence to Vassals?
Do you need DLC? I'm on options but there doesn't seem to be an option to break vassalisation

Think theres a option in diplomancy to release a vassal

I think it requires DLC. it used to be available to me while I didn't have DLC but it may require DLC now because I lost it until I bought a DLC, I don't know what DLC it is though

You can't release Client states anymore as far I can know.
If it does require DLC then I think it was Rights of man.

I believe the answer is Common Sense DLC.

However, I also know that the Cossacks DLC added vassal interaction features that are not documented on the Wiki, so it could be this instead.

I have the Common Sense DLC and the El Dorado DLC, and I cannot do it, don't think I have Cossacks though, might be it.

I don't have Rights of Man, so that could potentially be it, but it sucks if you can't release Client states, got too many minors taking up dip relation slots

Thanks for the help guys,
Many ducats for your services :income:

Select the vassal. Under the influence actions, there should be an option to "Break Vassalization".

If that is greyed out and you have both Art of War and Common Sense, then it is probably in Cossacks.

I do recall that option was in place before Rights of Man was released.

The option isn't even greyed out, it simply isn't there, perhaps it was removed in an update to be part of a DLC, or even just removed entirely (Though I do not know why this would be the case).

It could well be under Cossacks, I'll have a look into it as soon as I have the funds. Thanks for the heads up

Never had this issue, i have all dlcs though/
You can get 100% warscore in any easy war and offer in peace deal to release your vassals.

I don't think it's DLC dependant but if it is, at least it's not cossack because I did it without cossack
