How did Kilwa a Muslim nation get a PU on another nation?

i am playing Najd for the Jihad achivment and i just check Kilwa who i am soon to invade and discover they have a PU on Kasanje who are also Sunni but i didn't think any other relegion than Christians could form PU's

well i have never seen the muslims ever have a PU in this game never and i've been playing it for ages or it must be a rare thing to see a PU form in other relegions such as the Muslims as they may be only able to get it by a small chance

well it is Ironman mode so cheats don't work and the only way they could of done it was there was no heir and the prestiege of Kilwa was much higher as they can't claim thrones

In the wiki it says a PU can be only between christian nations (catolics, protestat, reformed and orthodox).

Even tho they are wierd scenarios when a sunni can get a PU as senior partner.

Example, Sunni Kilwa marry Sunni Kasanje, KSJ heir dies and get the same dinasty as KLW.
KSJ convert to catholic and heir dies, and king dies without a heir there is a chance that KLW get the PU if the met the requirments

you are right they where Catholic while the PU started well thxs for the info on this bug i was very confused on how they got a PU while no other nation of other faiths have

Yeah, they were likely Christian and got the political marriage event which made them go under a PU, and then Kilwa converted them to Sunni

There are also a few events for non-christians which result in PUs. Could be the case here (or, like already mentioned, religion changes).
