Blood Bowl 2 crashes on startup
Hi guys,

So on the day of the official release I was super excited to keep playing Blood Bowl 2. I let it update, re-started Steam, and launched the game. In about half a second the window came up, and it promptly closed. Every time I try to start the game it closes in a second.

I have un and re-installed, verified my game cache, and my drivers and system are up to date and above requirements; i was playing the beta just fine the day before.

Any help on this? There is a program I found online to moderate and fix Blood Bowl 2 crashes and bugs but I am hesitant to download and install it while they may be an easier fix.

Thanks guys :)

So literally the next time I launched the game it worked flawlessly, but I'm staying on board for this in case other people have this issue or it comes back for me.

I looked around and there are no helpful forums online for this problem so hopefully I can start something here.

Regards,

Thanks NutsMammoth,
This worked for me after I added compatibility and Admin on Bloodbowl2_GL_32.
3 of 6 executables needed the process before BB2 ran for me.

Interesting update for me: my Blood Bowl 2 works fine at home, but on the same laptop (plugged in as well) it does not work on campus.

Maybe this could have something to do with a mouse being connected? Or is there any other factor that could cause it to work fine at one place but not in another?

All configurations seem ok.

These issues must be managed case-by-case.

Please post your problem directly to the game developers for investigation on the official forum:
http://forum.bloodbowl-game.com/viewforum.php?f=90

Upload in attachment with your post the following files:

- A Microsoft DirectX diagnostic report (file: 'DxDiag.txt').
- The game log (file 'Game000.log').
- The game crash report (file 'xxxxxxx.dmp') if you have one.

To generate a Microsoft DirectX diagnostic report:

1. Press the keys Windows Start (bottom left) and 'R' from the keyboard to open the 'Run dialog box' and type: DXDIAG
2. Click the button 'OK'.
3. Click the button 'Save All Information...'.
4. Save the file 'DxDiag.txt' and close the DirectX Diagnostic Tool.

The log and the crash report (if you have one) are located in:

1. Open 'Windows Explorer' or 'File Explorer' from the taskbar.
2. Click 'Documents' under 'Librairies' or 'This PC'.
3. Open the folder 'BloodBowl2'.

When you create a message on the official forum, there is a button 'Upload attachment' in order to upload your files.

It is recommended to compress the files:
Right click on the files and click 'Send To' then 'Compressed (zipped)'.
