Im kind of on the fence about it. That 1 in 100 or 1000 situation that comes up, is it really worth stopping and clicking the option every single time?
With the dodge as it is I have a hard time imaging it would change the average win rate, and if thats the bottom line then why include the option when it slows down the pace of the game?
The count down with default would work perfect. Then I can keep watching my opponents turn in peace, unless needed ofc.
Think about the high number of blocks (40-60 per match for each blocker race) and the number of times the option will trigger, I mean that Dodge is a useful skill taken also more as teams get levels, more or abundant vs some races, etc. And most of the time the option is for no use.
I believe the number of times you want this option is far more than 1 ouf of 1000 and closer to 5%. But I don't know if slowing down attacks even more, thus hindering gameplay, is worth the strategy.
Maybe more numbers on situations will tell, but I don't think adding a dialog might be just "OK" for that.
The only good wayI think would be, during your turn, to allow you to click on your skil to deactivate it (with no additionnal timer etc).
The only good way to do this is let the player decide the skills he wants to be always used and the ones that require a confirmation.
Maybe I didn't understand your suggestion so don't take this the wrong way but it seem to me that deactivating a skill like Dodge during my turn, leaving one piece more vulnerable during the entirety of the opponent's turn, is a pretty bad idea. How many times will my piece get blocked? Out of all those blocks, am I sure I will NEVER want to use dodge?
The irony is that dodge wasn't optional in that version either, annoyingly.
