Blood Bowl 2

Blood Bowl 2

View Stats:
Human Team: Generalist Build
I wanted a team that could handle every race in the game to a high degree, so I'll just let it rip.

Team:
1x Ogre - (guard)
5x Linemen - (x3 with dauntless, x1 Pro, x1 Kicker)
4x Blitzers - (x2 with tackle, x2 with Power Blow)
2x Catchers - (x2 with block)
1x Thrower - (Accurate)

Rerolls: 3
Apothecary: 1
Coach: 1
Cheerleader: 1

Thats just the first round of abilities I've given my players. Though I still have 2 blitzers and a thrower without their skill. The team was oriented to handle everything.

Against teams with 4 or more strength, the humans have trouble fighting back at all, so I gave 3 linemen dauntless to give me the ability to fight back moderatly when needed. Ogre + guard helps give 2 dice rolls in these situations. I gave 1 linemen Pro because free rerolls are always useful. Hes a player for everything, picking up the ball, blocking, and even catching at times. Of course pro is risky, but you can still use standard rerolls under dire circumstances, its just nice for lesser stuff like trying to get out of double blue block. The last linemen gets kick, because being able to place the ball where you need it to be is always good.

I split my Blitzers into two groups. One to try and hold agile players in place, like catchers, and elves in general, and the other for straight up bashing.

For catchers, I gave them block to be a complete and utter pain in the ♥♥♥ to try and bring down. Unless the other player has tackle, or wrestle, It's 5/6 odds in my favor of avoiding a knock down. I typically use both for offense, and swap them out for 2 linemen during defense. If I take a casualty, I can still use them to stop up the run lanes.

Any suggestions would be great. I put about 200 hours into bb1, and played human most of the time. I'm still looking at ways to imrpove them.

Hey thanks for the game earlier, your bad dice gave me the game I think. I thought your build was pretty interesting.

Yea, as good a game as I could have been I suppose. The dice can easily turn one side or the other. I've had some plays that were miraculous, and about a dozen or so in the last day or so that left my tearing my hair out. You remember the negative more than the positive, that's for sure. Your ogre failed his intelligence roll a few times, and on that last drive you landed 3 double blues.

It's consitantly happened to me though, where I've got a touch down lined up, and all I have to do is make a single dodge with my catcher and hand the ball off, but he fails the dodge and dies horribly. I try to pin the tarp up as best I can to catch the impending ♥♥♥♥ that hits the fan, but a couple quarts of it always manages to elude my preemptive measures.

Yeah ole Lug Lug is living up to his name.
You did manage to kill my 1 strength catcher. I kinda liked him, Im sure his value was cheap and the way I use catchers having -1 strength wasnt a big deal.

They do not need the two receivers, the blizzers can do equally well .at least for the first clashes

What if he wants to throw the ball?
Those catchers can run a lot of interference.

well, first of all it seems a bit odd to put so much dauntless on your linemen seeing as its an extremely situational skill... best place for it would be on one of your catchers along with wrestle to create a fast agile ball hawk. Also, tackles only good when youre facing lots of agility teams, right now you're better off taking guard first on your blitzers.

I'd also take 4 rerolls since humans generally need plenty of rerolls to out maneuver bashy teams.

p.s. catchers are priceless, particularly with av8, once you get behind the oppositions line they have to dedicate forces away from their frontline which makes yours stronger and if they don't they can quite easily get the ball or have it passed deep to them. Blitzers are okay but they dont have the default skills or movement to make them great at it and you're wasting rerolls that can be used elsewhere. If you can't utilize catchers well then I'd say humans are not for you, better to play orcs or some other team thats more focused on bashing.
