+Strength Gutter Runner
I just rolled Strength on my first gutter runners skill. My first thought were to make a blitzer but I've read mixed opinions about this, some saying its a waste for a gutter runner, and wanted some thoughts on whether to use this as a double instead?

Its not a waste. He will be a more dependable ball stripper or marker. Take it.

Yeah you could customize his skills to be a blitzer, so after +Str maybe go for block, strip ball & then horns if you roll doubles for a mutation.

Gutter runners with a strength bonus is a luxury man. You can use him to break a cage easily. Instead of the two red dice , you get one dice against him. I'll give him the following..

Block Dodge ST+1 Strip ball Leap Tackle . Perfect interceptor.

+ST = is 90% of the way towards the effect of The old school Horns+ Dauntless Gutter.

What is not to love?

Personally I would not "waste" an double on a Lino on ST.
But on all the postitionals? oh yes (unless already skills makes it silly - like +ST on 1turner).

I'd take Wrestle (to get the ball away from carriers that have Block) and Tackle before Leap, but otherwise agree. +STR on a Gutter Runner is awesome.

I would actually take wrestle too but imagine your gutter runner having to go down constantly and without jump up?. Chances are you would only fail 2 out of possible 6 in a single dice roll result. 66% success rate ?. I'll gladly take it.

Different kind of 'interceptor'. Gutter Runners are better suited to blitzing the ball carrier than hoping they pass the ball. ;)

Actually I had one who did a bit of both, originally, wrestle, long legs + leap, for cage breaking, added pass block for other interception... Would have got catch (or nerves if double), but he got killed... Jumping into a cage, failing, stunned, foul, dead, apoth, dead.

But if this guy is around, that ball is staying on the ground.

So you only play Skaven with one G.Rutter?. There are others man. Each has their own special skill sets. You make one for cage breaking , one as a receiver , one for ball picking and the last one as a special rat (one turn TD etc etc ).

I don't think anyone was suggesting only one GR.

I certainly wasn't, although I do tend to prefer to make two aimed at getting the ball away from the opposing ball carrier. By their very nature these guys tend to end up in situations where they get hit more than you might like, so having two of them means I can both apply more pressure when needed (by using them both) and have a back up if one gets KOed or injured.

I like all 4 to be unique, but have never built an interceptor. It requires too many doubles to plan for.
