Lizardmen Kroxigor
Do you guys play with it? I got mine with Guard and he levels REALLY REALLY slowly half the game he doesnt do anything because of bonehead and his tail never really stops anyone from dodging. I was wondering if its worthwhile replacing him with another skink? The problem tho is then only 6 players on the team can fight compared to chaos who potentially has 11 str 4 players when needed and dont really need big guy or dwarfs with mass guard. What are peoples thoughts on Kroxigor?

Best big guys in many ways, bonehead should only occur roughly one time in six and the tail is a bonus. I feel you may have had some bad luck with yours. Lizardmen teams really benefit from them I think. Also they don't have the frenzy into a bad position issue that rat ogres and minotaurs have.

I like him. Like most players that rely on luck of the bash to level he's not going to go up quickly but his nature alone lets him have a pretty big impact per level.

He's like a really powerful saurus, he's capable of tying up multiple guys on a team that's already really good at doing that and while the tail doesn't always go off, it's a big enough boost on him that it makes a difference.

Overall I think he's one of the better big guys and he's one that really does quite well with his teams built in playstyle. I wouldn't replace him with a skink.

I look at him as freeing up a Saurus from the line of scrimmage to act in a Blitzer role.

Ah the delima of the Big Guy. Here's my take; if you buy a big guy NEVER spend a reroll on him. A big guy gives your team some flavor, but don't expect him to win the game for you. I usually buy the big guy as my number 12 player. I want a dependable core group of players first, then when I have the cash, I buy the random dude. The Krox is great primarily for his prehensile tail to tie up those pesky elves, but my recommendation for any big guy is to treat every block you throw with him as if it will fail and just be happy when he doesn't.

One way to build him is as a road block as just have him emit presence in the game and then play around him, like a monolith of strength, given the lowest Big Guy failure trait that I know of outside star players, plus his armour is high which should allow him to persist and progress. I personally view it as having a lizardman on steroids, and ultimately a boon.
Mostly my big guys just stand there like a wall and keep low agi pieces from going about the field. Although at times I am forced to try some potentially pointless and sometimes risky plays.
I'm not too concerned of leveling them up, but the way I play them I prefer having at least block on them (since I expect them to sometimes punch things and maybe get punched.)

Well he costs about 200k now i think and he doesnt have block and i dont particularly fancy getting matched up vs all claw chaos teams that you got at 1800 points or so , so if i replaced him with a skink i could put of playing vs those kinds of teams for a bit. He just sint very usefull half the time and without frenzy his block isnt as reliable. And his tail literally only kicked in 1 time in like 30 games.

Get him stand firm as well. His job is to sit on the line and attract attention. Actually dong things can be left to reliable players.
