Should we be able to respec our player?
I wouldn't mind to pay large sum of unuse gold to respec them. No need to reroll the dice, just use the same old roll but let us pick another skill. It is hard to build up the team and get SPP on some player. Mostly thrower and runner will hoard all SPP. Also, you will have no clue which skill does what or it does what you expected it to do. It kinda pain to pick the skill and it didn't work just what you thinking and you got unuseful player that bump up your value.

Why?

A simple answer is: because it's not in the original rules. You wouldn't ask to change how a pawn moves in PC chess game, right?

WEll, to be technical the way a pawn moves Has been changed in chess before. Most recently they added the En Passant rule, but if you go back to the midievil indian versian they were basically awful knights.

Also the queen used to be a gimped bishop that could only move 1 space until the influence of prominent women in midievil times made it so that it could move 2 spaces! THen, probably because of isabella, it became the piece whe know today.

I could keep going, you picked a really awful example.

Yep, it's been changed on a global level of chess. Not in some specific PC client. All PC clients use the latest globally accepted rules and stick to them.

Original BB rules also did change, I'm not going to argue here. And might (not really) change again on a global level, we might (not really) see CRP 10 one day.

Well when your argument is that something cant happen because it isnt "in the original rules," my criticism stands. Also I am sure if the committee whose name escapes me decides to change another rule, all the pc chess games still supported will be updated.

its a bit against the spirit because luck is involved in level up. That means if you got long leg and leap on your gutter and than you get ag +1 the long leg was a bad choice. If you respec you could made this choice obsolete. Against the spirit like i said that this game is based somehow on luck and foreseeing too.

It's not like "it can't happen" at all. Cyanide is changing rules right and left.
It's more like "it shouldn't happen, because we are old hardcore fans ofthe TT game, we'll get upset and cry like little girls if this happens".

What if you had to re-roll all your doubles and +stats? Or what if they were demoted to basic crappy level-up rolls?

I'd kinda like the idea of re-speccing, if it's made in a way that people can't abuse it to potentially give their guys better level-up rolls.

No, the choices are painful by design. If you could reconfigure at will to optimally match any team composition it would break the game.

If you're not sure what the skills do, ask other players here or check one of the websites that has guides for 'builds' for each player type before picking a skill.

You won't go far wrong, for example, if you stick to the advice in the 'Players' section here:

In league play it's pretty vital to see how your opponents are shaping their guys up to be. You strategize around their strengths and weaknesses and plan how to attack their team.

Keep the old roll. You can only pick new skill. Respec not available between league. Only if team out of league. Or only for offline play, so player can test thing around.
