Why would it have to be either/or.. i'd shoot for a couple with 1 & a couple with
the other.. + i'd be seriously considering having wrestle rather than block on
at least half my linemen.
Lucky.
Wrestle though - I might not be using it right to see all is applications. I understand it's great at getting the ball carrier, but it also leaves you prone. Anyone want to go into more detail on its best uses for me please?
SS better on ag4 player.
Fend better on 2 or 3 ag player. (linerat etc)
It's also good for player on line of scrimmage duty, especially once teams start getting developed. Your opponent will most likely be hitting with block players. In a both down scenario, wrestling down there is actually preferrable to staying standing. It drags down the hitter, making then not able to easily hit next turn unless they have jump up, and by placing you prone it prevents any opportunity to try to hit your player again the same turn. So it's a great skill just for surviving against bashing. They could foul of course, but against a scrimmage duty lineman, that's probably not worth.
Overall it's just a slightly different block. Worse for standing in the way, slightly better against people who stand in the way. Worse for hurting people, better for not getting hurt (unless you are a good foul target).
I find a lot of bash coaches (particularly in the open league) kinda get tunnel vision when it comes to bashing. An extra result that ends up with them on the ground is nice.
Edit: Needless to say, it also opens up plenty of fouling opportunities.
Wrestle is better than a lot of people give it credit, especially latter on when everyone has block.
But I disagree with the basic premise of the question, I wouldn't want my line elves to have 3 skills, 2 is perfect. Blodge/wrodge, that's it.
I take it this is to limit multiple blocks?
Against dwaves you want a whole team of wrestlers against lizards you want block.
