Setting up with fewer than three players

I just reduced an opponent to 2 players on the field and the game didn't do the advance-the-clock-two-turns-and-try-the-ko's-again thing that I think it is supposed to do.

Instead he just set up with two players.

Am I remembering that rule from an older version of the rules?

You can set up with 2 players just fine. The thing you described happens when he can't set up with any players.

IIRC the less than 3 players thing is that you can concede w/o a penalty.

That's only in the tabletop, no such rule in BB2, AFAIK.

I saw someone that posted a video where someone conceded with 2 players on the field and got the mvp.

It's been a while since I checked, but my understanding is that this is the case.

All right, I made an Ogre team w/ only 11 Gnoblars. It took 2 games, and I finally managed to get <3 but >0 players to set up, and you do get to keep your MVP and money when conceding.

The most amusing part was getting 2 injuries from 3-red dice blocks, on both down rolls. It was vs Amazons for one and Elven Union for the other. I also used a brilliant coaching reroll to turn 3 red arrows into... 3 red arrows.
